Nice try, mom. Did you really think you can get rid of me with a poisoned apple? But yeah, sorry, I'm kinda invincible here, because you've got the cuff and I've got my knight. Prince. Duke. Whatever he fancies himself as ( Read more... )

Poisoned apple? Allowing a man to help you?

Sounds like a princess to me.

Considering that under the circumstances the second was the only way to undo the first, I suggest that you drop that particular subject. Unless you think she could have fought off the poison by pure willpower?

I don't recall asking your input.

Or do you not allow the lady to speak?

I don't recall there being a rule that only one person could speak. Especially since I'm the man in question, and she happens to be my girlfriend.

As previously stated, I was talking to the lady, and not to you. If you continue to interrupt the conversation, you are only proving what I was saying a moment ago. Since you do not know the intent of my query, reacting in such a manner only makes you look too emotional for your own good.

I gathered that.

My girlfriend was just turned into a complete idiot and then knocked out for most of a week. I think I have a right to be emotional.

Perhaps, but they will do you, nor her, any good. If she fears this person she calls her mother, she must fight her. If she depends on you, that will mean you must be there for her at all times. A valiant action on your part, but will become of her in your absence?

Absence? I don't make a habit of disappearing every time I'm upset.

Hypothetical, sir.

Never mind. This argument's getting to the point where we could go on for days and not come to any useful conclusion.

Perhaps. Still, it was not my intention to provoke an argument. Merely to voice a theory.

Some of us, after all, have to make do with no man at our side...or anyone, really.

Unfortunately, I was. And I didn't like it. I'm not really stupid and clumsy, you know.

That does sound distressing.

I would imagine not. That would make things very bad for you here.

Yeah. I grew up in a war and all, learned how to fight before I even knew why I was fighting... and then that spell, or whatever it was that caught most of us last week, turned me into a complete mockery of who I was. Hah.

You weren't affected, I presume?

A horrible thing. I have been that once, a girl all sweet and kind. A girl I left behind a long time ago.

I was, actually. This time, I was actually a being who was quite powerful.

Lucky you. That sounds a lot cooler than the whiny princess I got turned into.
