It may be time to clean out the Dragon's tub.

Because I can't help but notice that something seems to be growing in it.

Oh, all right. That is a horrible lie and I am a horrible liar. What is actually happening is that I bought a bunch of fake plants for the Dragon. I'm washing them off in his tub just in case there are any contaminants on them, because beardies explore their world by licking every new thing they encounter.

And for the record, his tub is plenty clean. ;)

In other news: I got a SCOOTER!

It isn't any kind of motor scooter, which is what everyone seems to think when they hear me say scooter, alarmingly. It's the kind you push with your foot. You know- a Flintstones Motor.

Anyway, I got it to run errands with. With gas prices as high as they are, I've been cutting out all extraneous driving. Generally I stop at the grocery store, if I need to do so, on my way home from work. Which is quite convenient, unless I happen to need something at the store on a day when I'm not working.

The grocery store is only a mile away, so it's not as if I can't walk there, but I've found by experiment that I can only make it about three quarters of the way there and back before my foot starts hurting enough for me to need my cane. (Fortunately I brought it with me during said experimentation. Note to self: These experiments might be made more fun by switching to a tippling cane.)

Anyway, I imagine the return portion of the walk would be even less fun with a backpack full of groceries and whatnot.

But a scooter has WHEELS! Which means I can roll zippily along instead of stepping repeatedly on my foot. Plus, scootering is fun, as I learned on a scootering expidition with yodelingpoodle, who once kindly lent me one of her razor scooters so we could zoom around the park.

The scooter I ended up getting is a Fuzion Asphalt. It's nifty- look!

I went with a four-wheeled model instead of a razor-style scooter on the grounds that more wheels means less chance of falling over. I hope. (Because falling down is, um, not something I can claim not to be prone to. Oh, dear.)

Plus, I got a ridiculously awesome deal on it after some extensive scooter-stalking on eBay. If you don't count the shipping, I got it for less than 15% of the retail price. Even with shipping, it cost about 40% of what I would have paid if I'd bought it new at a store. Oh, SCORE!
