There is a difference between a 'nice' person and a 'kind person'.

Nice people I don't really trust that much. Not that a person cannot be "nice" on occasions. Someone buys me dinner. That's nice. That person ask me to give them a hand-job because he bought me a meal. NOT NICE. Someone offers to drive me to the grocery store. That's nice. The person conveniently forget her wallet at the cashier and ask you to pay for her groceries (and swear they'll pay you back but eventually when you ask them, they'll say "Hey! I drove you!").  NOT NICE. Nice people generally do something for others because they are getting something out of it. Nice does not always equate to being generous.

I like kind and generous people because it's harder to be a kind person in this world. I read about 'Righteous among the Nations" and I'm in awe of those who consistently defied Nazism during the time when it was much safer and cooler to be part of the Hitler's club. I admire people who stand up for others and not for themselves for the sake of what's true and right and not what society or government tells them. People shit on kind people everyday but they remain resilient and daring, eating up all that shit and then stand up and say "Want me to help you shovel more of that shit?"
That's awesome.

I'm sure you know a few kind people in your life. Who are they?

life, personal
