Serious shit....
Every since I took the Deafhood course three weeks ago, I am way more sensitive now in regard to my identity. The reason for that is because I learned that there is a definite chance that the Deaf community will disintegrate in 100 years because of advances in the technology and medical field. Furthermore, it's sad to know the reality that more Deaf schools are closing and there are very few Deaf clubs.
I am grateful that I work in an organization that have other Deaf individuals who also share the same fear. We all read about extinct animals and civilizations that ceased to exist and it is truly horrifying when you're part of that community that predicted your own ending.
It's time for me to get down to it, start posting Video Blogs, recording ASL stories..record, record, record.
