Chapter 4.

“Kan-chan, don’t forget to show Tatsu around school at recess okay?” Mom reminded Dopey as we were about to part ways.

He just grin his dopey grin and said “Of course! Well, see you later Tatsu!” I glared at him when he mentioned ‘Tatsu’ I’m really not comfortable someone other than my mother calling me that.

“Thanks. Bye!” And then we went away from Dopey. It’s embarrassing when you’re already 16 years old and your mom accompanies you to school. Although I have no choice because they were still some forms which my mother haven’t signed.

We walked towards the building on the East side and entered. The insides were cool by the air conditioner. It actually felt relaxing. My mom went to the reception while I just stayed near the door. When she was done, she led me to sit on the sofa opposite of this strange bald gangster looking guy.

“We have to wait a while because the principle is seeing someone right now” My mom explained. I just nodded.

I inspected the room and saw this big crucifix on the dresser near the sofas. It had this red thing falling down from his eyes. As if it was crying blood. The bald guy seems to notice me staring at it.

“You know, that crucifix is rumored to be that whenever a student graduates here virgin, it will cry blood” The bald guy said and I burst out laughing. Very loudly. My mom jabbed me on the side to stop my laughing. I calmed down at looked at the bald guy and saw that he was grinning at me so I grin back. It was then that the door to the principle opens.

“Okay, you can go to class now.” The principle - an old but healthy looking guy came out with a female student who was crying.

The principle followed the girl out and then when he greeted us. “Ah! The Narimiya’s! Good to have you here, but please excuse me for a few minutes.”

“It’s alright” my mom politely replied.

“Tanaka-kun, I heard you got into a fight again?” The principle lectured the bald guy.

The bald guy - who was called Tanaka - pouted “They were bullying my friend! How can I just let him be?!”

The principle sighed “I understand your feelings but they were girls. And men do not give girl a flying kick literally” he emphasized the ‘literally’ really clearly. But wow… a flying kick to girls? I king of already liked him but he is the exact opposite my mom wants me to be friends off. I already saw her look of loath at him. She really hated troublemakers and unfortunately for her, I’m one too.

“I can give them flying kicks if I want too. They deserve it! They were really a group of flat-chest-baboons-bitches!” he said calmly as if it was the most obvious think in the world and I had to stifle my laughter. Because my mom glared at me because she knew I was going to laugh.

The principle sighed. “Tanaka-kun, it’s not nice to say that to people. How many times have I told you?”

“A thousand times” He muttered under his breath.

“Yes! A thousandth time and when will you finally listen to me?”

“I don’t know, let’s give it another thousand times” And he grinned which made the principle sighed again. My mom shook her head and stared disapprovingly at him but I don’t know, I sort of like him. He is the type of person who I will never be bored of being around with.

“Tanaka-kun, you are a smart kid. Don’t be a troublemaker. It’s not good for your future” The principle said in a motherly tone which is weird because yeah, well, he is a dude.

“I understand but they were bullying Yucchi and I will not tolerate those who bullies my friend!”

The principle sighed and scratched his head as if he was confused on what to do. “Well Tanaka-kun, since you’re doing this for Nakamaru-kun’s sake, I will look the other way. But please do not get into any more fights”

“I’ll try my best to make it only one fight a day” And he grinned but the principle just glared at him in a harmless sort of way. He pointed to the door and flicked his wrist.

Tanaka-kun got up, and walked to the door but not before giving me a wink which I replied him with a grin.

“I’m so sorry you had to see that.” He apologized to us.

“That’s okay. I know how troublesome kids can be. Especially boys.”

“Yeah but there are still some good kids. Now, let go into my office to get those forms that needs to be signed” And he led us the way to his office.

Then they both went to school topics like the extra activities, classes clubs and all which I totally blocked out. I was staring out the window the whole time. The view was the school’s soccer field with to its left side the baseball filed and to its right, the tennis/badminton field. I’m also guessing that the Basketball court s in the gym. Damn, this school is rich.

I was staring at those who were playing soccer. It wasn’t a real match because those guys were fooling around by kicking it while doing a little twirl and one even caught the ball in his hands and bumped it on the floor as if it was a basketball but of course it wasn’t so it hardly bumped back up. Others laughed and he laughed with them.

I don’t know what but the scene felt like something was missing. Then I finally noticed what. Ghosts. There wasn’t a single ghost out there. But that is impossible because I see every one of them!

I was brought back from my inner panic by my mother shaking me.

“Tatsu, are you listening to me?”

“Umm… No. sorry, what is it?”

“I just told you that I’m going home now and since class has already started, Johnny-sensei (the principle) will show you to your locker and to your class.” I nodded and we got up and to the front door. This school is an international and private school so this system much resemblance those of western school.

I parted with my mom by kissing her cheek then we parted ways with her going to the parking lot and me to follow the principle, Johnny-sensei - if I’m not mistaken - to another building. Through the journey I look around trying to see even one ghost but Nada, zilch, nothing.

It was really troubling me because it’s very unusual - okay, never was I not in the same place with a ghost. Johnny-sensei led me through the halls that were filled with lockers but he stopped. I looked confused at him.

“Your locker is no. 1004.” Hey! My birthday! But it seems like he wants me to find my locker myself because he was just staring at me so I tried to look at it with him right beside me. I finally got to row 10. 1001… 1002… 1003… and… 1004! Found it! But I stopped in my tracks in front of it.

It wasn’t because it was ruined or something was written on it or even next to a dumpster or something. No just that a very pissed girl ghost was standing in front of it with her arms across and let me tell you, she was pissed. A vein could clearly be seen on her forehead.

“So this is the Bitch who is replacing me?” She said in a very cold voice but I noticed that she wasn’t saying it to me… She was saying it to Johnny-sensei who had a big grin on his face.

I stared at him with my mouth open a bit. “It’s seems like I was right. You can see them after all” He said happily.

“What?!”

“When your mother told me about your behavior that you always talked to yourself and that you would sometimes stare into space as if something was there, I had a suspicions that you could see it.”

“So you can see them too??!”

“Yes” Now I get it why the school wasn’t covered with ghosts! Johnny-sensei probably moved them on. Well, except this girl who I almost forget.

“Hello?! Why the heck are you two ignoring me?!” She yelled.

Johnny-sensei sighed “Ueda-kun, this is Horikita Maki.” We just glared at each other.

“Sensei, you have to be fucking kidding me because why do I have to give up my locker to this bitch?!” she said and I raised my brow.

“Excuse me? Who gives you the right to call me that. And as the answer to your question. You are croaked so beat it”

“Why you sick bastard!” She wanted to yell more but I quickly punched her in the face and sent her flying back to the locker. It let out a huge ‘bang’ because I guess the impact was too great. She looked up at me in surprise and horror before she disappeared.

I heard Johnny-sensei sighed behind me (You know, he really got to stop sighing or he will have more wrinkles) “Ueda-kun, as I told Tanaka-kun before, it is not nice to hit people. Even dead people! We have to talk it out rationally.”

I put up a thoughtful face before I shook my head slowly  “Not gonna happen”

“And why is that?”

“Because whenever people or ghosts made me annoyed and I can’t shut them up, I will always use this” and I put up my knuckles. He sighed again.

“Fine… I’ll talk to you about it later. I have had too many of it already this morning. And then he continues to lead me to my class.

We stopped in front of a class and he knocked on the door. A teacher with brown hair appeared. He was handsome. “Ahh… Johnny-sensei, how can I help you?”

“This is the new student, Ueda Tatsuya-kun” I bowed a bit to the teacher.

He smiled at me and put out his hand which I casually shook “We’ve been waiting for you Ueda-kun. Unfortunately, you’re brother-in-law, Kanzaki-kun is not in this class, his is in 1-B while with your excellent grade, you are in 1-A”

I just nodded my head. Don’t really care but happy that Dopey isn’t in the same class as me.

“Well, I’ll leave you two now.”

“See you later, Johnny-sensei” The teacher said. As the Principle left, the teacher turned to me and flashed a grin “Okay, I am your homeroom teacher, Takizawa-sensei but you can call me Takki-sensei which every student already does.” Again, I just nodded. “Now come in” And he led me into class.

As I entered, every one’s attention was on me. I stood next to Takki-sensei in front of the class while he writes my name on the blackboard. “Okay everyone,” He said as he finally finished writing it but I should add, It took him three tries to get it right. Was my name that hard to write? “This is your new classmate Ueda Tatsuya-kun. He just transferred from California.” With the word California, the class broke out into the chorus of ‘Oohs’ “He might not know Japanese very well so please help him out” I slowly looked up at Takki-sensei because where the hell did he got the idea I wasn’t good in Japanese?

“Now, Ueda-kun, please introduce yourself. If it’s hard, in English is okay too” I just stared at the class and spoke in fluent Japanese which made Takki-sensei turn red and the class teased Takki-sensei.

“Ueda-kun, I thought you didn’t know Japanese…” He said as I finished my introduction.

“I never said that.”

“But outside all you did was nod so I thought that you didn’t know how to answer me” Takki-sensei said embarrassedly.

“Ahh… No. I just thought that it didn’t really need an answer”

“Poor Takki-sensei~” A guy with shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes teased Takki-sensei.

“Keep quiet Akanishi-kun!” But there was no real threat in Takki-sensei’s voice. “You can take a seat now Ueda-kun”

I looked around and saw an open seat in the middle of class next to this girly looking boy who had his hair tied up in a ponytail. Is he gay? I was reluctant to sit next to him and then I saw another open seat. At the back of the class, second row from the window next to some guy with glasses and had his head down. Not even looking up at all with my entrance I noticed. The girl guy waved for me to sit next to him so I walked down and almost made the girly guy think that I would be sitting with him but I didn’t stop and just went to the seat at the back.

“God, sit with the freak” I heard the girly guy muttered.

“Excuse me, do you have Tourette’s?”

At the sound of my voice, Takki-sensei who was about to write on the wall turned around to looked at me as well as the other’s in the class, including the girly boy who had just spoken. He blinked at me, startled “What?”

“Tourette’s Syndrome,” I said, “it’s a neurological disorder that causes people to say things they don’t really mean. Do you have it?”

The boy’s cheeks had slowly started turning scarlet, “No.”

“Oh,” I said, “So you were being purposefully rude?”

“I wasn’t calling you a freak,” The boy said quickly.

“I’m aware of that,” I sad. “That’s why I’m only going to break one of your fingers after school, instead of all of them.”

He spun around real fast to face the front of the classroom. I settled into my chair. I don’t know why everyone started buzzing about after that. I also noticed that the boy who teased Takki-sensei turned around and grinned at me which I grinned back a little. Takki-sensei was trying to call everyone in order but failed so he said if they keep talking, there will be a pop quiz which shut up everyone.

Takki-sensei started to continue writing on the board but me, I just looked out the window, which was my true intention of sitting back there. Because it showed the view of the ocean so clearly. I could see the waves and watching it, made me feel homesick.

To be continued.

You know what, Tat-chan’s character much resembles me in this story :P I’m the type of girl who would say something like that to the people she hates or pissed off at. Comments are loved and Happy 28th Birthday Tatchan!!!!! And also Happy Birthday sugarbloodlolli ^____^
