My friend on myspace made a survey that tells more than just what kind of cereal you like and when you last brushed your teeth. Thought I'd share it here as well.

Household

q) Who do you live with and why?

a) I live with the man I love, who will some day be my husband, Dan. I also live with his mom and her significant other. I was in Las Vegas when I met Dan on line. He lived in Michigan. He moved to Vegas to be with me, and then later we dicided to make a try for a life out here in Michigan. His mom has been nice enough to let us stay with her until we get on our feet. Her significant other brings her a check every thursday, so she lets him stay. He's usually in his room playing games or watching hockey.

q) What is the best advice or bit of wisdom given to you by one of the people you currently live with?

a) Hmmm...both Dan and his mom have told me a lot of things, some I follow, some I dont. I guess the lessons in finances would be the most helpful.

q) Who does the cooking/cleaning in your home?

a) Dan's mom does most of the cooking, and most of the upstairs cleaning. I clean the downstairs, and Dan cleans the dowstairs bathroom. Most of the time Dan and I do the dishes.

Family

q) Are your parents still married, or were they ever?

a) Yes, and it's a mirical. Mom and Dad got married in February of 1968, and I was born in October. I think they may love each other now...I hope so.

q) Are you married, engaged, or in a long term relationship?

a) I am very happily engaged to Dan. He and I met online as I mentioned before, and he is the perfect mix of letting me be myself, yet still being the man of the house. We would have been married long ago...if I could just get my ex to cooperate on a divorce =P

q) Do you have kids?

a) There's a loaded question! I have two daughters I am in touch with. One seems happy to have found me (I wasnt in her life for most of the time) and sent me a mother's day card that made me cry! The other...didnt even call. I dont think she's all that thrilled to have me back in her life. I had a son I had to adopt out, and I have a son and daughter in Texas who I dont see or talk to due to the controling nature of thier father. I also have a little one on the way. And I swear I will not make the mistake of losing another child! For once I'm going to be more than a mother...I'm going to be mom!

q) What is your favorite memory with your current immediate family?

a) I'm going to count Dan in this, since he may as well be my husband. He came to visit me in Vegas for a week, and my room mate was out of town. We had a whole week with the place to ourselves and it was wonderful!

For those of you who dont count him, it would be my dad. When I (I dont know how I got italics, and therefore I dont know how to fix it, sorry) was about 6, my Dad came into my room to tuck me in and said "You have been my precious baby, you have been my beautiful little girl, now I want you to be my buddy" And to this day we are still buddies!

q) Do you have siblings?

a) Another loaded question. (The italics are gone!) On my mothers side I have (living) three sisters. The only one worth mentioning is my sister in London, who seems to be a lot like me. I wish she'd keep in touch more! On my dad's side I have (living) two brothers, not worth mentioning.

q) What is your favorite childhood memory?

a) So many! Wow! I cant chose! My 8th grade new years party stands out, as does the way my dad would not wake us up before he'd drive to the next location in our moterhome, so that when we did wake up we'd be somewhere totaly new from when we went to sleep. But let's go with the party, because that really says a lot about who my parents were.

8th grade New Years, mom and dad threw a party. They invited my whole class! Most of them showed up too. They moved all the furniture so there would be room to dance, mom got me a beautiul cake, dad was in a snoopy chefs set at the bbq. And this was my favorite part. We hung strips of candy canes, you know the little ones wrapped in celophane squares? from the cieling between the dance area and the food area. You had to walk through this shining curtain of candy to get to the champagne fountain filled with sparkling punch and many MANY yummy treats!

Mom went all out for her kids, and everyone loved my dad!

Traditions

q) What is your favorite family tradition?

a) We never really had any. Before halloween was 'evil', we used to have a party in our back yard, hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire, and hot spiced cider.

I guess thats why I have been so determined to have my own family traditions when I have a family. For instance, Dan and I are getting a Christmas pickle this year!

q) Did your family do the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy etc...?

a) My mother didnt like lying to children. We had those things, but we all knew it was dad. However, it did make for some fun stories. Like when I lost my tooth and mom had me leave a note under my pillow that said "I.O.U. One tooth" I woke up and found a note that said "I.O.U. One dollar" lol

One night though, near Christmas, when I was maybe 4, I woke up and went downstairs to get a glass of water. My sister was there, and she gave me a glass of water in one of those jelly glasses with the Hair Bears on it. As I sat there, I saw a shadow on the wall of a sleigh, a fat man in a hat, and eight very much alive and moving deer. There was nothing outside or in the house to cast such a shadow. I pointed this out to my sister and she told me to go back to bed. I set my glass on the counter and did. When I woke up, excited, and told everyone about it, my sister said it never happened and I must have been dreaming. Yet there was my Hair Bear glass right on the counter where I left it. Today, she denies the entire incedent.

I know it's silly to believe in Santa...but ever since that night a part of me does....

q) On which holiday do you see most of your family?

a) I dont, my family is across the country

Faith

q) Do you practice a faith and if so which one?

a) I'm hard to classify. I dislike organised religion, so I claim none. I am a follower of Isis and Bast, and learn most of what I know through visions and independant reading. If I had to clasify myself it would be as a Hearthwitch.

q) How does your faith make you feel empowered?

a) I feel that my Goddess speaks personally to me, so I need no man of faith to translate it. My prayers are answered, and I am given tasks to perform as tribute to my Goddess. For the last decade, the only thing she says to me when I thank her for blessings, ringing over and over again in my head...LEARN. And so I have strived to do so.

q) What is your favorite religious tradition?

a) It's a Celtic tradition I took from my ex. Instead of a wreath, I take two boughs from my tree at Yule time and cross them, tying them with a wide red ribbon. This I hang on my door as a symbol, saying "Peace to all who enter here"

Last Thoughts

q) What would you like to say about yourself for everyone to know?

a) I'm a very open and friendly person. I'm the best friend you will ever have, and the hardest friend to lose, but if I ever do turn my back on you, good luck getting me back. I think I may have turned my back on one or two people in my life. Usually it's just a spat, and it goes away sudenly.

One more thing: Life with me is never boring!
