It's the first day of my long weekend and I'm sitting in Greg's room eating Chips Ahoy and drinking Sunny Delight, fairly content to just pass the time until Greg gets home from work. Today we're going to see the new Harry Potter movie (which I've already seen, but Greg hasn't) at the imax theatre. Saturday night we're going to the fireworks downtown.

I didn't do much at all this week except work and take care of Sugar, as I predicted. I'm one of those people that, after working for eight hours, I just go home and crash, I can't do anything with my day once work is over. I imagine though that as time goes on I'll realize I'll never get to do all the things I want to do if I don't remain energized in the evenings after work, and that'll change.

I've been informed (through the grape vine) that what with various other employees going on vacation over the next few weeks, I'll be working full time hours the next while. The posted schedule confirms this. Of course I'm going to work it, but I'm a little annoyed that I was never actually told that I'd be jumping from 12-18 hours a week, to 40. Instead I heard it through the rumour mill.

It's been interesting, working so much. My life kinda revolves around the pet store. I talk about it, I think about it, I dream about it, the majority of my time is spent there ... it's an odd feeling, and really emphasizes that work should be something you (for the most part) enjoy.

I've decided that next friday - my next day off - I'm going shopping by myself. My paycheque next week will be much, much grander than I'm used to, and while I don't plan to blow it, I don't see the problem with splurging $50 - $100 on some much needed summer clothes.
I have my eye on a certain purple dress ...

work, greg, weekend
