New layout! What do you think?
I had such a good time at Arcade Fire on Thursday.
Marissa and I arrived at about 4pm, and were some of the first to be let in ... we were right up at the stage at first, but then decided to move back onto a little knoll so we could have space to hang out on a blanket and still be able to see. It was all over at 10:30pm or so.
This girl is from St Vincent, the opening band - she is so cute.
There was a huge array of instruments on stage, it was pretty nuts. A quote from Wikipedia -
"Arcade Fire is known for its enthralling live performances, as well as its use of a large number of musical instruments. In addition to mainstays guitar, drums, and bass guitar, members play piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, xylophone, keyboard, French horn, accordion, hurdy gurdy and harp."
Nutty! Anyway, I haven't been to a huge amount of shows, but I've seen a fair amount of live music in smaller venues, and quite a bit in larger venues (Sarah McLachlan, Death Cab, Jann Arden, Goo Goo Dolls, Franz Ferdinand, The Cribs, Coldplay, Barenaked Ladies, Savage Garden, Delerium, Jacks Mannequin, Panic! at the Disco, etc). This was my first outdoor concert, and it sounded incredible - and Arcade Fire is easily the most talented live band I've had the pleasure of listening to.
I circled myself. I didn't circle Waldo.
The rest of the weekend was lovely as well. I met Chanel at Metrotown on Friday and we chatted over New York Fries and bubble tea, and perused the mall. Chanel bought her first pair of skinny pants (from American Apparel, with much peer pressure from me) and I bought a really cute mod-style dress, which I wore later that night to dinner with Greg and then to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End. It was weird, that movie ... not as good as the first two, but still enjoyable, and with some really unexpected twists of the plot.
Saturday morning, Greg and I drove back to Maple Ridge for Sugar's farrier appointment, and spent the rest of the day adventuring and exploring until the wee hours. Today I worked in the afternoon and then hung out with Greg in the evening before he headed home. <3
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
I had a feeling that I belonged
I had a feeling I could be someone
My glands are swollen AGAIN, for the third time this month - it feels like I'm swallowing around golf balls.
Thanks to a heads-up from
shangalangshang , I took advantage of the
