Oh the sun, how I missed you so.

I haven't really been feeling myself lately ... I've had a lot on my mind. As usual, though, Greg provided me with a lovely weekend away from my thoughts <3 On Saturday I had the First Aid for Cats course - I spent an extra hour afterwards talking to the instructor, and walked away with even more on my mind re: my future and career options, which is both good and bad.

I came home from Greg's this morning, and went for a trailride with Sonya this afternoon. It was an excellent ride, Sugar led the whole time and she did very well. She even cantered willingly in front (usually she has trouble getting up the confidence to do that), and we had an awesome gallop down a straight stretch of trail, leaping a few logs cross-country style along the way. At one point we were descending a hill in the open air with a beautiful view of south-western Maple Ridge, Langley, Surrey, etc. The evening sun was glaring off the surface of a creek and there was a warm breeze rich with smells of spring ... so familiar, and it was heaven. I had a big grin on my face, thinking about my plans for the summer.

I'm going on another trailride tomorrow with Ruth and Sonya, but not until 3pm, so I plan to make the most of the sunny weather before then ... go for a walk? Paint outside? Take some photos? Perhaps all three. Wednesday and Thursday are work days ... blegh.

Lately I've really noticed how weak my legs are, from all the inactivity while I was on crutches. I climbed 24 steps or so at the college a few times throughout the day on Saturday, and every time my legs ached horribly - I wasn't out of my breath, but my legs were exhausted. I don't know of anywhere within walking distance with bleachers or a lot of stairs, but I'm thinking that regular bike riding or jogging will help immensely. Riding helps too, of course, but clearly I need more than just that.

Haven't done any of these for a while ...
