my day so far:

1. while talking in International Society class, I used the word "pure," but pronounced it "p-yore", instead of "p-yer." I felt really weird. why did I say that? it's like saying the word "mature" as "ma-too-er" or "adult" as "AD-ult." only pretentious people pronounce "pure" the way I did. what does this say about me?

2. read Sara's survey thingie (this was probably early this morning) and tried to decide whether i've ever masturbated on the phone. answer: probably not if i can't specifically remember it. but it sort of seems like i might have.

3. why am i discussing these personal details on here? even i am creeped out now. how do you do an LJ cut? someone tell me, please.

4. finding out that i owe LBIS $40. (see previous entry).

5. writing PO'd e-mail to LBIS people (but very polite PO'd e-mail).

6. procrastinating madly, as evidenced by these 2 entries. and i NEVER procrastinate. really. i feel uncomfortable about it.

7. calling SIT and getting the veiled hint that i was accepted to the Uganda study abroad program. so, yay! a point of light in a kind of stressful week.

8. going to the archives and being helped by the nice archives lady (thankfully nice, after the evil AV room lady) and finding poems by Auden and William Carlos Williams and Robert Lowell in issues of HIKA, one of Kenyon's literary magazines, from the 1930s. i am going to write my final American Modernism paper on them (I think) and compare them to student poems published in the same issues. And I will maybe even call up the old geezers who wrote the student poems (if they're still alive...and they're all geezers, because Kenyon was men-only at the time) and ask them...something...to include in my paper. i am so excited!

8. finding just now that my iPod is out of batteries when i want to listen to an uplifting song to help me finish my paper. argh.

9. now off to finish IS paper, the topic of which (women in politics in Uganda) slightly bores me. and my professor for the class is a political science professor, so i am afraid he will be more critical of my paper. sigh.
