Last one, I swear:

We've actually acquired all the stuff we need off of craigslist, so I can stop checking it obsessively for a little while. We got two bookcases, a gliding chair & ottoman, a dishwasher, and a washer/dryer set. Not bad for just about $300 total.

We had fun hooking up the washer and dryer last night, especially when we didn't open the water valve enough, so it had trouble pulling enough water and caused all of the pipes INSIDE THE HOUSE to vibrate madly and make a terrifying noise. It was great. We're standing out in the backyard, admiring our humming appliances (there's a little shed with w/d hookups outside the house) when all of a sudden, the house starts vibrating like it's possessed. fun! But we seem to have fixed it.

We're about to open negotiations with the property owner to get our kitchen sink/faucet replaced, because it's kind of crap. Other than that, everything seems to be working pretty well, and we are starting to feel settled in. Which is somewhat unfortunate, since we still have a bunch of stuff back at the old apartment to move over, plus we have to clean it. But neither of us wants to go back there, really. Ah well.

Actually, I lied when I said we had everything we needed. The last thing we need to make our house complete is a kitten. Maybe even two kittens. So we're going to be looking for that in the next few weeks. We need to get a short haired one, because Josh is fairly allergic, although he's not letting that deter him from getting a cat. And we want to get one young, so that it will bond with us. And be cute. Kittens seem to be a semi-rare commodity, however, judging by how quickly they are snapped up on craigslist. Once we have a free weekend, I think we'll go to some of the shelters/adoption places in the area and see what we can find.

Whee!
