Happy Thanksgiving!

So, I was planning a big long post about a bunch of stuff. But after planning said post for a week, with additional things to mention piling up on top of it, I realized I just don't have time for a big long post. So here's the short short version:

where the crap did November go? )

We're totally having fun. And also looking forward to christmas break. Which is not to say that I don't have a pile of things to do over break, but at least there'll be no more classes.

I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties in the run-up to the present (I heard about them on the news, and was hoping you all were getting through it okay).

Back at SLC, it was not unheard of for me to write two 30-50 page papers in a week at the end of term. 20,000 words is only 80 pages (I know, that sounds like Father Ted: "If there are 200 million priests, and say five percent are pedophiles, still, that's only ten million!"), I know you can do it!

Good luck, and looking forward to hearing from you in a few weeks!

Yah, the papers probably won't be that bad. One of them, for my statistics class, is just a writeup of an experimental design. We don't actually have to do the experiment, we just have to come up with a study and discuss the statistics that could be applied to the results. Just demonstrate we understand how to use stats in a semi-concrete way. So that won't be too bad. And one of the others is just a lit review, so I don't have to worry about argumentation or anything. And the final one is very open ended, so there's a lot of wiggle room for working out the details. So I think I'll make it all work ( ... )

Aargh, that is annoying. Even so, I still think it's better than Ye Olde Irische Sistemme, with the entire grade being based on your performance for 2.5 hours of your life that you don't get to choose, in uncomfortable seats and badly-ventilated rooms...Alas. But anyway, best of luck to you, and I'm sure you will rise to the occasion!
