So, my birthday is in a few weeks (September 12th). I'm going to be visiting my parents the weekend that's closest to the actual day, though, so I'm thinking of planning San Diego-based festivities for the following weekend-namely, Saturday, September 17th. And although it's not terribly original, I am considering stealing Josh's 'let's make a movie' party idea, since that was so much fun last time. So I wanted to throw that out there and see how many people are interested and able to attend, and what kind of story we might want to do. The whole "make it up as we go" thing worked well last time, but I think maybe a little bit more structure would be good this time around. I'd like to go into it with some kind of script or at least a loose plot outline this time around. Since it's my birthday, there's a few things I'm going to insist on:
1) I am not going to die in the first few minutes of the film this time. :) I would like to have something resembling a lead role.
2) I know everyone just got lots of fake guns and camo and military stuff, but that's really not my speed. I'd prefer something where the costuming was oriented more towards Rennaissance/Victorian/Pirate/etc, (think bodices and possible the ripping thereof) and I want the fights to be with swords and sticks.
I have a couple of vague ideas in my head about things we could do, but I want to get an idea of who wants to participate and what kind of resources we have and what kind of brainstorming we can generate.
So, post here if you want to join in, and if you want to toss out some plot/setting/costume ideas, that would help get the ball rolling.
Whee!
