The phone is an amazing piece of technology that I will never love or care for

I've spent the past two days calling people, so many people, cold calling them actually. I have no idea who I am talking to or if they can even help me. I just keep repeating this one mantra over and over until someone goes "Okay, I can fix that."

I will never be comfortable with phones. I will always think they are too scary. Just a voice saying things in response to you. I need facial reactions and body twitches. I need to see the person I am talking to so I know when I've offended them and when I've crossed lines, when I've made them happy or surprised them.

The phone is just this black box. I've been a good worker Bee though and it is appreciated. Later today I am going to master the fax machine which is another piece of technology so antiquated I have no idea why I must master it when scanning and emailing something to someone is far more helpful and practical. I am supposed to receive multiple faxes down today but I have no idea where they are going to be.

Technology doesn't frighten me but people do which is still ironic considering how much sci-fi I watch.

technology hates me, work
