Sep 23, 2009 18:16

Title: Untitled (I really got nothing sorry)
Pairing: Eunhae
Rating: Pg-13 for implied actions
Genre: Fluff? Angst?
Summary: Donghae is leaving for China and SJM activities. Eunhyuk is sad. (Sorry I’m sucky at summaries too it’s good just read it k?)

A/N: For Thaur because she asked, and to make up for the lack of Eunhae in “Admitting it”.

“Dooooonnnnngggggghae!”  Eunhyuk crooned.

He burst into the small bathroom surprising Donghae, who was busy packing away his personal hygiene items.

“What are you doing Hae?” Eunhyuk asked as Donghae furiously chucked deodorant and toothpaste into a nondescript black travel bag.

“Packing” was the monotonous reply.

Eunhyuk’s lip jutted out at this answer. He pouted. Wrapping himself around Donghae from behind, as the other turned towards the sink, he asked plainly “Why? You don’t leave till tomorrow…”

Eunhyuk rested his chin on Donghae’s shoulder. Donghae just shrugged, causing Eunhyuk’s head to bounce.  He continued to search through the cabinet behind the mirror for his toothbrush. Upon finding it he unceremoniously chucked in the bag as well.

Eunhyuk’s pout deepened. “Won’t you need that tomorrow morning?”  He pressed closer to Donghae.

Donghae swiped a hand through his hair idly messing it up further. “Yeah, but I don’t want to forget anything, so I’m packing it now. I’ll just take it out tomorrow and use it.”

“Either that, or I’ll just use yours” He smiled, a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. Eunhyuk hated that smile. It meant goodbye.

“Hmm Maybe I’ll take yours then.” Eunhyuk teased, trying to lighten the mood. He hated this part as much as Donghae did, but he wasn’t going to taint their last few hours together with sadness. He picked up the toothbrush.

“That way you’ll have to come back to claim it.” And stay just a minute longer.

“Don’t be stupid Hyuk” Donghae pushed away from the sink, and detangled himself from Eunhyuk’s arms. “I’d just buy a new one in China, and then be annoyed.”

Eunhyuk let Donghae go. He knew him well enough to let him go, but he hated that smile more than anything. Donghae stormed out of the bathroom.

“What about your heart?” Eunhyuk called after him. “Are you coming back for that?”

Donghae slammed the door to his bedroom shut.

Eunhyuk paused for a long moment. He stared at his reflection in the mirror idly. He tried a smile, a laugh, but he was annoyed to find that his smile didn’t reach his eyes either. He really hated goodbyes.

With a sigh Eunhyuk fixed his hair (hey he was an Idol after all) and went after Donghae.

~*~*~*~

He knocked tentatively on the door. He let himself in and was not surprised to find Donghae sitting on the edge of the bed, head in his hands, staring blankly at the half packed suitcase at his feet.

“Hey” Eunhyuk said gently, walking over to where Donghae sat, and perching next to him. He didn’t wrap Donghae in his arms, didn’t hold him like he was longing to do, because as much as Eunhyuk needed that reassurance, that he was still there and he was still real, that probably wasn’t what Donghae needed right now.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Eunhyuk asked. At the same moment Donghae spoke.

“I don’t want to go.”

Eunhyuk blinked, surprised. “But you love China! You love the people, and Henry and Zhoumi, and having your own room, and the food, and the fans who are all ‘Omg DongHai!” His voice sounded falsely cheerful, even to his own ears.

Donghae turned his face away.

“Hey” Eunhyuk said again, seriously this time. “It won’t be that bad. Really. It’s only 6 weeks. We were fine before, we’ll be fine this time. You’ll see.”

He placed a comforting hand on Donghae’s thigh. Donghae pushed him away.

“Don’t. Just Don’t Hyukie”

Eunhyuk bit his lip, and blinked back tears. They stayed that way for a long while. The silence stretched out between them, only broken by Eunhyuk’s sniffles as he tried valiantly not to cry.

“I-I didn’t mean it like that Hyuk.” Donghae said at long last. He still didn’t dare look at Eunhyuk’s face. He couldn’t risk that yet.

“Look I’m sorry alright. I know I’m being an ass about leaving, but it’s just because I don’t want to think about it. I hate missing you.”

At this Eunhyuk dissolved into full blown sobs. Alarmed Donghae spun around to face him. Tears rolled down Eunhyuk’s face that the boy tried unsuccessfully to stop by burying his face in his hands.

“Oh Hyuk.” Donghae breathed. He gently pulled the crying boy closer to him so that he could put his arms around him. Eunhyuk’s tears soon soaked Donghae’s shirt. Donghae ignored that.

Eunhyuk never said “Don’t go” or told him to stay, but his whimpered “I need you”  caused Donghae’s heart to constrict just as painfully as if he had.

Donghae kissed Eunhyuk’s hair lightly. “Eunhyuk. You’ve got my heart. I will always come back for that.”

Eunhyuk sniffled and looked up at Donghae with red rimmed puffy eyes. “Promise?”

“Promise” Donghae agreed. He couldn’t promise never to leave but this, this he could do.

He held Eunhyuk’s trembling body until the other’s cries subsided to hicups and little gasps of air and even more sniffles.

“I didn’t want to cry tonight.” Eunhyuk said after he had calmed down. “I didn’t want my last memories of you for 6 weeks to be sad ones.”

Donghae paused thoughtfully. “They don’t have to be.”

Eunhyuk arched a brow. “Hmmm”

“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Donghae asked smirking suggestively.

“I think I am” Eunhyuk replied coyly.

“LET’S GO ANNOY SHINDONG!” He bounced off the bed and pulled Donghae laughingly to his feet.

“Well that’s not exactly what I was thinki-“ Donghae began but Eunhyuk was already halfway down the hall. Donghae just chuckled and followed him.

Eunhyuk was relieved to see Donghae smile a real smile.

~*~*~*~*~

Later that night they did indeed get around to what Donghae had been thinking.

When it was over and Eunhyuk was drifting in and out of sleep, Donghae debated the pros and cons of leaving for China in the morning.

Pro: He was under contract, China was amazing, He really did love who he got to be in China.

Con: being apart from Eunhyuk.

Donghae stopped himself before he began to seriously consider quitting SJM by whispering in Eunhyuk’s ear.

“I love you. If I haven’t mentioned it.”

Eunhyuk’s reply was a sleepy mumble and to burrow further into Donghae’s embrace.

All too soon Hangeng was shaking Donghae awake. “Come on, we have to get going. Don’t dwaddle too long” He said with a pointed look at the naked figure of Eunhyuk sleeping next to Donghae.

Donghae’s eyes softened as he took in the sight of his lover one last time. He gently brushed the hair off of Eunhyuk’s face and placed a loving kiss to his forehead.

“Love you Hyuk” He murmured, before slipping out of bed to go shower.

Miss you.

Donghae quickly brushed his teeth, using his own toothbrush that he fished out of his travel bag. He had briefly considered using Eunhyuk’s just because, but he dismissed that thought, just as he had the thought of stealing it.

Under the hot stream of water from the shower Donghae considered the next six weeks. It truly wasn’t that long of a time, and he would be too busy to sleep for most of it maybe he wouldn’t miss Eunhyuk too terribly. But just the thought of the boy still asleep in his bed made Donghae’s heart ache, so maybe not.

It was if the thought of Eunhyuk somehow summoned him, because seconds later he was slipping into the shower behind Donghae.

“What are you doing up Hyukie?” Donghae asked when he felt Eunhyuk’s arms come to wrap around his waist.

Eunhyuk yawned sleepily. “Wanted to see you off.”

Donghae shifted so that Eunhyuk could stand under the water too. He turned around to face him, accepting the kiss that Eunhyuk offered.

“Hyuk. I don’t really have time for that” Donhae said regretfully. He pulled away the tiniest bit.

Eunhyuk yawned again. “I know.” He said simply. “I just wanted to be with you until you have to go”

Donghae nodded. They had said their important goodbyes last night, but somehow this seemed more intimate, more real, standing in the shower together like they were. He let Eunhyuk kiss him again, before spinning around.

He laughingly demanded that since Eunhyuk was there, he could wash his back. He handed the body wash to Eunhyuk who raised an eyebrow.

“Isn’t this mine?” He asked shaking the bottle.

Donghae shrugged. “I wanted to smell like you”

Eunhyuk snorted. “Fine but I’m using yours then.”

“Fine” Donghae retorted, sticking out his tongue.

~*~*~*~*~

Much later that day, after tearful goodbyes (“Teukie we’ll be fine”) and screaming fans at the airport, a three hour flight, more screaming fans, customs, a taxi ride through Beijing during rush hour, a squabble over who would room with whom Donghae tiredly collapsed on what was to be his bed for SJM’s stay in China.

With a groan he rolled over to unzip his suitcase and unpack. An unfamiliar bottle fell out of it. Curious Donghae picked it up. It was Eunhyuk’s body wash.

“HaeHae,

Thought you might like to have this. Use it and think of me.:)

Miss you already and Love you always,

Eunhyuk “

Read the yellow post it note attached to the bottle.

Grinning Donghae popped open the top and inhaled, letting the scent of Eunhyuk surround him. Maybe now he could get through the next six weeks without hitchhiking back to Korea.

“FIRST DIBS ON THE SHOWER!” He called rushing to the bathroom and slamming it in Henry’s face.
