So - ecology. Not too hard, is it?
Not really. But the FREAKING reports they have us write every single week are INSANE! And it's soooo not worth it cause everyone gets CRAP grades for them anyway. Grrr. I got a 60% for last week's, after spending the majority of two days reading about insects and trying to understand the data we had collected, and the teacher sent to us looking like something from a plane crash. I spent four afternoons/evenings working on it - we're talking at least three hours a night, and 6 hours nonstop the night before it was due. I spent at least 2 hours beside that cursing excel and trying to resist the urge to throw my computer out the window. Tinna - who never fails anything - got a 40% on last week's report, which means she failed it - like over half of he class did.
This week's report is on tiny animals in rivers. We collected them two weeks ago - counted them last week, and the report is due tonight. Well, guess when we got the data. On TUESDAY! I have labs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. I have lots and lots of reading to do, posters to make, other reports (not quite as insane) to write and lectures to work on. I have lectures every single morning of the week until at least 12. I am SO PISSED OFF! That is not NEAR enough time, when they want crazy long professional reports from us, and then fail us on the damn reports if they're not good enough (and spelling errors ARE reason to fail us, you know.) We have 7 reports due total this semester - we have to pass 5 to be allowed to take the final.
WELL IF YOU FREAKING GIVE ME THE DATA TWO DAYS BEFORE I'M SUPPOSED TO HAND IN THE REPORT AND YOU WANT ME TO FIRST READ TWO LONG ARTICLES ON THE SUBJECT - THAT YOU DON'T GIVE ME A LINK TO UNTIL TWO DAYS BEFORE EITHER - AND I'M IN SCHOOL FROM 8 TO 8 BOTH THE DAYS I HAVE TO WORK ON IT, HOW THE HECK AM I GOING TO PASS!????!!
I've been sitting in front of the computer since I got home from class. So far, I have read what I needed to, tried to understand the data (it's a mess - I cannot understand it), written 2 pages of introduction-type text and such, and I have an hour and a half until it's due. I haven't even STARTED the hardest part yet.
