Tonight, a friend of mine asked me if I was drunk. I wasn't - I was just really happy. And I've been really happy lately. I think it's caused by the fact that summer's almost here (yes it is!), and it's pretty much physically impossible for me to be unhappy in summer. So anyway, I'm rambling. What I wanted to say was... I think the music I've been listening to lately reflects this sudden extreme happiness.

01. Michelle Branch - Tuesday Morning
I took your picture while you were sleeping, and then I paced around the room
This has been my Walk To Work song lately - I especially like it when noone is around and I can belt out Tuesday mooooorning, in the dark, I was fiiiiiinding out, who I waaaaas, pretending that all the people inside their houses can't hear me ;)

02. Kasey Chambers - Like A River
I think the sun is finally rising - it's burning down because I miss you
Another good song to belt out on the way to work. I also like it because it's a happy Kasey Chambers song! Or well, as happy as a Kasey Chambers song can get. Her voice always has that sadness to it, even when she sings happy songs.

03. The Weepies - Dating A Porn Star
you can go crazy with thoughts and supposes, lose the thin thread between what's wrong and right
Even though it's a little sad, it's essentially a love song, and underneath the sad melody and lyrics, there's a man in love. It makes me want to close my eyes and sway back and forth. Mmmm.

04. Pink - Who Knew
they knew better, still you said forever
Sooo, it's sad, but it's sad with a nice beat! I am so completely head-over-heals in love with this song it's ridiculous. It just makes me hurt inside, but not necessarily in a bad way... and I think that's always an indication of a great song.

05. Natalie Maines - White Women's Clothes
the white man's liberation took me from my home, for the prison of his houses and his white women's clothes
I like young Natalie's voice, and I think it fits this song perfectly (and this is another sad song with a nice beat, I just love sad songs too much!). I love how her voice goes really high, then really low in the chorus... it gives me goosebumps!

06. Taylor Swift - Teardrops On My Guitar
he's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why
Okay, I don't even know why I like this song. It's pure "bad country", and not even bad country that's funny. But I guess the girl's got talent - she's just a teenager, has a nice voice, and writes decent songs. I don't know. My iTunes is shocked at the amount of plays Taylor Swift has gotten lately. It's weird.

07. Gwen Stefani - Sweet Escape
instead of clowning around let's look for some common ground
Don't give me that look! Gwen is cool. Always has been, always will be. No matter how many tacky videos she makes, she knows how to make catchy quality pop. Just admit it, you sing along with it every time, too!!

08. Abra Moore - Guitar Song
it's a mighty fine day to play, three chords is all I have to say
I may just like this song because I have a terrible weakness for girls with guitars, so a girl singing about a guitar? Swoon.

09. Play - Hopelessly Devoted
my head is saying fool, forget him, my heart is saying don't let go
So there are Swedish Girl Bands. There's Grease. Then there are Swedish Girl Bands covering Grease. I may just have died and gone to heaven! Super-cheesy!

10. Joni Harms - That's The Way I Feel About You
my favorite things are broken in, they've been with me through thick and thin
I'm tempted to call this bad country (if it is, it's the kind that's funny!), but I can't - it's so unpretentious, and doesn't try to be anything other than it is - a happy, upbeat, simple country song. A great sing-along song!

11. Amanda Marshall - Sunday Morning After
I remember yelling "hey DJ! jack the volume I love this song
I heard this song a a few times back when it was popular, but I completely forgot about it until verav posted it a few days ago. Since then, I've discovered that it's an excellent song to bike to, it's really funny, and this girl has an incredibly cool voice.

12. Joss Stone - Under Pressure
these are the days it never rains but it pours
So I'm not a huge Queen fan. But they've written some damn good song. This is one of them - one I even like when sung by Queen. And Joss Stone's cover is seriously amazing.
