Can I go home now?

I know I said I wanted to stay here forever, but I'm starting to look forward to going home. I'm glad I stayed here this long though, because 6 days would've been too short and I probably wouldn't have been ready to leave after less than a week. But today is day #10 and I'm ready to meet my friends again and sleep in my own bed and listen to my CDs and maybe even go back to school. It's all good, though, cause I go home tomorrow afternoon.

Dagur, Inga, Máni and Sól left last night, and Logi, Bína and Bjartur left early this morning. My grandpa is still in Reykjavík (they're still running tests and stuff but he is fine) and my uncle Snorri flew there a week ago so grandpa would have some relatives close by, so now there's just seven of us left in the house... me and my sisters, my aunt Helga and her boyfriend Bragi, and Rakel and Sjöfn, Snorri's girls. Me and my sisters leave tomorrow and Sjöfn leaves on Wednesday (she lives with their mom, Rakel lives with their dad)... then it'll only be Helga, Bragi and Rakel, since Snorri and grandpa aren't coming home just yet. The house feels empty already with just the seven of us here, I can't imagine what it'll feel like on Wednesday!

We went visiting my great-aunt Frænka today (As Icelanders will notice, Frænka isn't really her name as it just means Auntie, but everyone calls her that, even people who aren't related to her at all). It was so weird, because I haven't seen her in almost two years (I haven't been here in two years!) and she's gotten so old and fragile in that time! It makes me so sad and scared because I don't handle people around me getting old very well. When I was little I went visitng her all the time and she baked like 2038848902 cakes and cookies a day... she doesn't bake so much anymore, but we still got offered three different sorts of cakes with our tea. That woman is insane, I tell you.

Oh! Guess what I just found out... my cousin Rakel (who's 16) loves the L word! It made me super-happy and she has now watched the first four episodes of the second season on my computer! Oh! There's another reason I can't wait to go home... I can download the last two episodes of the L word!

Baaah gotta go find some way to entertain me for a little while before I go to bed.

family, the l word, easter, seyðisfjörður
