Life is wonderful. I so needed this break. I feel better than I've done in months!

I haven't spent much time with my relatives in the past two years or so - none of them live in Reykjavík, and I never gave myself the time to come here to visit (school during the winter, work during the summer, have to spend time with parents and siblings during holidays...). And two years is a long time to go without seeng your relatives (when they come to Reykjavík to visit, I'm usually too busy to spend any time with them at all, and they always come seperately). So this has been GREAT!

What I find kind of funny is that my 15-year-old male cousin, who's been kind of shy of me ever since he turned 8 or so (due to me hardly ever coming here) is the person I'm enjoying spending time with the most. All my other cousins (except Logi, who's officially an adult now, with a girlfriend and a baby) are girls, and they're just so loud and girlie! Plus they don't enjoy sitting down and playing a nice long boardgame, their attention spans suck. So I'm very pleased Máni is here.

My six-year-old cousin is called Sól. Her name is really Sesselía Sól, but she's only ever called Sesselía at school. Sesselía is the Icelandic version of Cecily (it was my grandmothers name, but she was from Austria) and Sól is the Icelandic word for Sun. I guess being called "Sun" is making her kind of uncomfortable, cause the other night she quietly asked me if I could call her Sesselía instead of Sól... "cause all the kids at school call me that, and I sort of like it better". I keep forgetting, though, and she hasn't mentioned it again. She also asked me to draw a picture of her, but asked me if I could please not draw her curls, because she wants to have straight hair... sounds like it's very hard to be a six-year-old girl these days. I absolutely refused to draw her without her curls, cause she has curls to die for.

family, life is good, easter, seyðisfjörður
