O Brother, Where Art Thou?

It always bothered me that there was never any more contact between Ryan and Trey.  So, what if it was Trey that Ryan turned to after Marissa's death.  Here is my take on how that would go.

Thanks for this- and for chicster for recommending it. Ryan's and Trey's very tumultuous relationship and definitely dysfunctional and often dangerous dynamic was just one of a long list of items and issues that should have been prioritized after S2. Sadly, we got none of it and so much wasted time instead.

There's so much to tap in to in terms of past and present, so I'm glad to see you exploring this scenario. Even though it's set in their present, it still incorporates, even indirectly, so much of their past. Ryan and Trey have both had separate lives in recent years, so I'll be curious to see how that affects their roles, just as it did in Newport. It was obvious then that Trey really didn't know Ryan- if he ever had, and Ryan learned so awful truths about Trey and how his brother perceived him.

I do have to wonder how hostile the Cohens will feel towards Trey because of the trauma he was responsible for inflicting and what he was prepared to do when he was in Newport, but I guess they'll have to make some hard choices if he's their link to Ryan. But more difficult choices make for better drama. Ouch!

Reading on.

I'm glad you're enjoying this story - started it awhile ago and thanks to 60schic for reccing me to all. I was always disappointed that Ryan and Trey's relationship wasn't explored more after season 2. So this is my take on what might have happened.
