What can I say about this weekend, except that for a writer, ALA is the best place in the world to be. It's basically heaven.

Never mind it took me 14 hours to get there (thank you, flight delays), and about the same to get back (thank you again, flight delays). But in between, I really soaked it all in, what it means to be an author.

I had SUCH a nice time. I liked that I didn't plan anything out, it was better that way. Have you started reading any of your loot, I mean books? :)

I'm in the middle of Liar and Spy, and I finished an ARC for one of the graphic novels I picked up. The rest of my books are being shipped to me via Disney because I couldn't fit them in my suitcase! (I only took home books for my kids).

I hope so! I checked the ALA schedule, and the next ones seem so far away from me! ALA withdrawal!

Thank you, Anne Marie. I'm sorry to say I wasn't able to get a picture of Vamperina Ballerina for you. But it's for a happy reason, in that the F & G copies for the book flew out before Ihad a chance to see them. Dina, the school and marketing person I work with closely, raved about your book. She said that the librarians who stopped by loved it, and were very excited to see it. Because I didn't get to see the F & G, I have been promised a copy in the mail. I hope so!

Thanks for sharing. Glad you had a wonderful time. The milk and cookies were a nice touch :). Especially like the pic of you and Wendy.

One of my highlights this year has been meeting Wendy. I saw her for the first time a few months ago at another book festival, and then I got a chance to see her again at ALA. She is really terrific!

I got to meet her once briefly a few years ago -- lovely person!
