A woamn talked to us toady after the show. She lost her son to AIDS when he was five and a half. She said she brought her other son, who is now 8, to see Yellow Boat so he could better understand what happened to his brother. She said she lived so many of the things in the play, like having her son kicked out of school, and friends dumping you out of fear. It was really wonderful to know that we had touched her. I, of course, knew Yellow Boat was a true story but it's so different reading a script and looking at a website than meeting a person who actually lived it.
David Saar, Benjamin Saar's father, is coming to see the play on the 18th. I'm going to be a wreck.
