I really wish I would have kept a record from day one about my tarradiddle travels. Today we went to Rockingham. Oh my god! Country! Trailer park white trash. The kids, as always, were great but some of the stories we heard.
We ate lunch with a class of 3rd graders (the only class of third graders at a school of 150 students)and when I say these people are trailer park I shit you not. One girl named Candice, Candi for short, has 2 sisters (Brandy and Bailey) and 3 brothers and all the kids have different fathers! We performed at the community college where Candice's father goes to school. He's 23 or so and the mom is 30 something. All six kids and the mom live in a trailer.
One little boy has four pit bulls and has been bitten by one.
One boy got shot with a bee bee gun by his brother and is now asking for a gun himself for x-mas so he can return the favor.
I asked one little girl what her parents did for a living and she said they only work 3 days a week at the BP and tire yard.
Despite these things the kids were smart and funny and were a blast to have lunch with.

The other day in Mooresville we got stuck in the mud. Triple A had to come get us. As we were leaving a guy said, 'Have a safe trip on your journey'. I don't know why that makes me laugh so much but it does.

On a totally different topic I have returned to my geeky roots. I bought a computer game and I can not stop playing it. I stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning on days were I know our call is 7am. It's just so compelling. And now I want more games. I used to play computer games in jr. high but I haven't played one in ages. I'm ending this entry so I can play it some more. I have a day off tomorrow so something tells me I'll be up until the wee small hours of the morning.
