"The short weekend begins with longing."

Deacs won a couple of more this week, which is always nice. Should be interesting to see how we handle or fail to handle a cornered MD team and a bloodthirsty crowd.

Work went pretty well this week. No major tragedies. Some snow, some donuts, and that's about it.

The only other event of note would be the dinner some of us had Tuesday night. A friend and I had a bit of a clash, so I spent a good deal of the rest of the evening trying to figure out how to resolve that situation. I suppose it's behind us now, but I feel there will be some lingering awkwardness from it.

Last night, Chris and I went to the grocery store to pick up a few items. Then we swung by blockbuster to pick up a couple of movies. We ended up with "American Splendor" and "Punch Drunk Love." We watched "Splendor" last night.

Frankly, it was funny because it's true. I won't speak for Chris, though I think he would say something similar, but I really identified with the first half of the film. Of course, then he meets his soulmate and his life improves, but still isn't a fairy tale.

I guess Chris still hasn't been feeling well this week and now I am not feeling so great, so that's a bit annoying. Especially considering I have to get on a plane Monday morning.

Until then, though, I don't see much going on this weekend. "Now there's a reliable disappointment."
