Is there a doctor in the house?
I have never been good at keeping small pets. As much as I love all animals, if it's not a dog or a cat, I am jinxed at keeping them alive long. I have always had a thing for fish though. When I saw this giant container that looks like a huge wine glass and realized what an awesome fish bowl it would make, I had to take the endeaver into the world of fishies one more time. Yesterday after work, I became the proud owner of a fan tail goldfish and a koi. Yes, yes...when I saw a koi there I was drawn to it! I have been around neopets way too long.
I got them home and put them in bottled water, since the lady I work with said that is the reason my fish die on me is because I use tap water. They have been acting skittish, but they have changed environments...I would be skittish too. And the fact that they weren't eating didn't bother me, since no fish I have ever bought ate the first day...I think it's nerves or something..I don't know..I don't know much about fish!
I just went upstairs a few minutes ago and the koi was still just freaking out! Just swimming to the edge of the bowl and shaking back and forth it looked like he was in a state of trying to shout 'NO NO NO' lol And the goldfish wasn't much better, but at least she wasn't shaking like that. I tried feeding them again...nothing! I thought maybe if they couldn't see around the bowl it wouldn't freak them out so much, so I took an old pillowcase and tied it around the bowl so that it's totally wrapped, and the only place to see in or out is the top opening. They immedietely calmed down and started scrounging the bottom for what was left of the food...it seems to dissolve, so I gave them another pinch and they ate! Just what I needed! Two fish that are total nut cases!
