ALABAMA-MAYOOOONN!

I've learned a few things about being down here in Alabama.

- One. My job is not as bad as I thought it was, even though a hurdle was thrown in my path that would have me stumble and fail. That hurdle was an unexpected regional manager's meeting that I had to conduct during my week down here. Having had no preparation for it, I was an udder wreck trying to get my stuff. It turned out to be no issue, since this site probably has the least demands that could possibly exist. A rare 360 reversal from North Carolina, to be sure.

- Two. GM's who happen to be Indian-British-Expatriate Americans and curse people as "villainous curs" every once in a while are by no means low on my personal totem pole. Especially when you can hold conversations about the medicinal and nutritional benefits of Guinness in British women. It doesn't sound like a serious conversation, but trust me. Y'all don't know, just as I didn't know.

- Three. As far as Alabama is concerned, the roads are the most well-kept and enjoyable throughways I've ever seen. I'd think of moving here just for that reason. I'd think of NOT moving here because all the beautiful women already have two kids and husbands who look like they've been to prison two or three times.

I've no picture documentation to show for, since my part of Muscle Shoals looks like a plane full of commercial businesses crash landed on an expanse of highway and scattered its WalMarts and Taco Bells and Steakhouses all over. The scenic drives are all I have to report on, and well, I was driving at the time. So no pictures. Maybe soon.
