What says romance like the gift of an injurred, kidnapped girl?

Ooh, for once an addition to LJ which I thoroughly approve of and will use! I was impressed with the little snap.com links on some friends' wordpress blogs, and suddenly all of my hotlinks in LJ have screen grabs. Nice.

Oh, and we saw Stardust on wednesday. Brilliant. Loved it. Wonderful casting all round. I swear they thought 'right, Potter's got all of Britain's great Actors, what does that leave for us? All of Britain's comedy actors!'

And Robert de Niro as a whoopsie. Classic, and I will never be able to look at him the same way again.

Apparently I'm the only one who thinks it, but I'm sure that Clare Danes is turning in Gwyneth Paltrow - every time she turned around I expected her to be Viola.

The film possibly could have stood to be a little darker and scarier, but it was fun and pretty - though with a few seriously dodgy effects shots. Oh, and Mark Williams gives good goat. And Dexter Fletcher was an unexpected pleasure (not that him being a pleasure was unexpected - I always like him - but I didn't know he was in it). Garrrrrrr!

The very pretty lad who played young Dunstan (before he grew up to be the lovely Nethaniel Parker) is apparently being Caspian in the next couple of Narnia films - he should make a very pretty and rather endearing young prince.

Also, all men should be furnished with either a nice frockcoat or a decent greatcoat (with shoulder cape). Or both.

stardust, films, lj
