On the after day of a rather disappointingly small get together (half the people couldn't come, what a shame :/ ) I sat down to watch some old Disney movies that my little sister brought back from her friends house.
Ever notice how watching a movie as a kid, and watching a movie when you're older are two totally different experiences?
Like, say, Beauty and the Beast. This was the first one I watched, and I remember watching it all the time when I was but a wee lollipop child. I had the misfortune of seeing the 'platinum' version with that crappy new musical sequence (that about destroyed the rest of the movie for me) and noticed several things I never noticed before.
-Gaston is such a slimeball as well as a jerk. As a child, I'd not realized how horrible his 'advances' really were.
-Why do they always make wolves out to be bad guys in Disney films?
-Belle really was too curious for me. I mean, seriously, didn't her father teach her to be a little more courteous of others' privacy?
-The candlestick... O_o;;;
It was still a good movie (but if you ask me, the lighting on human Beast was crappy as all get-out) and I'm glad I watched it.
And then I watched Tarzan.
Wait... how long did it take for him to learn next-to perfect English?
But Tarzan was recent and not really the totally different experience... like The Lion King. 2.
Ok, so Simba's daughter is going to end up with said spawn of Scar.
...
WHAT!?
Weren't Scar and Mufasa brothers?
So... Kovu and Simba are direct cousins. And Simba's daughter would be his cousin too.
Disney supported incest?
They never actually said Kovu was Scar's son, but his brother and sister were, and his mother sings Scar's praises up and down till her death at the end. She even says Scar picked him as the heir. Would Zira(sp?) have possibly had another lion's cub? No.
So Kiara and Kovu are seriously related D:
That's Disney for you.
