Behold!  A music meme stolen from maria_chan!  Mostly so I can link songs and also to get me to update my journal regularly again XD

Day 01 - My favorite song
Day 02 - My least favorite song
Day 03 - A song that makes me happy

1. 'Crush' - Dave Matthews Band   [video]  [song]   [lyrics]

No questioning that this is my top song overall, for the past twelve years or so.  On the first CD player I got, Before These Crowded Streets was one of the first albums I had.   Angie would tell me how the song 'Wicked Game' was the puberty starting-line for girls in her generation, and I feel like this one was my starting line, cause I had no idea what the fuck the lyrics were about but they had me interested.  This song never fails to get some sort of emotional reaction out of me, mostly resulting in pining and dreaming.  This is the only song I'm adamant about having at future!potential wedding.  I hear that Dave is a screwball IRL, I will never forget that his band is the one who gave this song to me.

2. 'Gasolina' - Daddy Yankee  [video]  [song find the damn thing yourself I'm not going to try]  [lyrics]

This choice honestly has very little to do with the song itself.   If I had only heard Gasolina 50 times, I'd be totally okay with it.  But.  I spent an ENTIRE YEAR in Jersey City with this song literately always in earshot, whether it was played out of someone's apartment, played on ringtones, blaring out of cars or the stores along the street....I have shakes just from replaying the song on Youtube.  I know there are technically worse songs out there (I have a few Will Smith songs I'd like to nominate), but for pure traumatic effect Gasolina wins.

3. 'Spiraling' - Keane   [video (what a fucking bizarre video)] [song]  [lyrics]

No contest that this is my 'pick-me-up' song and one that inspires me to keep on going and trying.  Interestingly, this song was actually inspired by the WWF wrestler Ric Flair, which helps me connect to the song even more strongly cause I can imagine exactly the kind of person/mindset Keane was directing this song at.

Today's plans - pine and wait for a phonecall from Macy's, organize my new room a little bit, PIZZA, finish Fringe season 1, and schmoop bingo stories.

I saw Eclipse, which I found genuinely enjoyable whenever Bella was NOT on the screen.  Melissa Rosenburg, the screenwriter for the Twilight movies, does an amazing, amazing job of translating the crap and craziness of the books into something entertaining and at times, reasonable.  It's as if the Twilight novels are being translated by sane people!  What saves it is how it is genuinely funny at times, which you need when you are (a) focusing on a totally absolutely UNREALISTIC tug-of-war romance like Jacob/Bella/Edward's, and (b) going half-assedly at the VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES mythology like Twilight does.   Also, CHARLIE SWAN.   I AM FOREVER ON TEAM BEER N' SHOTGUNS.

I laugh so hard at the fail of The Last Airbender too.
