Here are two bands that I have just recently discovered and I think you should have a look at..

Tegan and Sara

There very folky with a mixture of some softish rock, I certianly can't describe bands to their full credit, but I'll get wikapedia's discription for you.

Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Kiersten Quin (born September 19, 1980, identical twins) are Canadian singer-songwriters, performing as Tegan and Sara.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, they got their start winning Garage Warz, a local music competition in that city. Since then, the two have toured extensively with many artists, including Neil Young, Rufus Wainwright, Ryan Adams, Ben Folds, The Pretenders, The Killers, Little Birdy, Hot Hot Heat, Bryan Adams and Weezer and on Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair. They are signed to Neil Young's Vapor Records in the U.S. and to the Universal Music Group in Canada. Tegan currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and Sara in Montreal, Quebec.

Originally, as when they were competing in Garage Warz, the duo was known as "Sara and Tegan." They decided to change their band's name to "Tegan and Sara" because "Tegan" is a more unusual name and, they felt, "Sara" was a common name among female artists. Early copies of their album Under Feet Like Ours were printed under the band name "Sara and Tegan", and are now a sought-after commodity among their fans.

The twins tell comic stories on stage, a throwback to when they didn't have a lot of material but still wanted to give people a full show. Their sisterly bickering is part of the show and endears them greatly to their fans.[citation needed]

While both twins are similarly involved in vocals and playing instruments, the singing of the lead melody often goes to whichever twin wrote the particular song. Sara has been quoted saying that Tegan writes songs prolifically, "like a fish lays eggs", eventually discarding most of them. Sara's songs, on the other hand, evolve slowly and methodically and almost always make it onto the record.[citation needed]

Tegan and Sara both identify as lesbian. [1]

TV and Film
They have made many television appearances, including Vicki Gabereau's Canadian talk show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live (March 23, 2005) and The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (November 11, 2004).

Their songs have also appeared on the movie soundtrack for Sweet November, the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack, The L Word Season 3 soundtrack, and the Veronica Mars soundtrack.

Most recently, Tegan and Sara had a guest appearance on the hit Showtime series, The L Word, which aired on March, 19, 2006.

They were the first featured artists on WNYE-TV's live music program Summer in the City, which shows outdoor concerts and interviews with band members taped in New York City. It was first broadcast on September 29, 2005, but has been in heavy rotation ever since (most recently re-broadcast on June 8, 2006). One in-between-song tidbit from the show: They appreciate "good steak" from "a fancy French restaurant" their record company treated them to.

Cover songs
In 2004, Matt Sharp and Maya Rudolph of The Rentals recorded a cover version of Tegan and Sara's song "Not Tonight", and released it for free on the World Wide Web. [2] Sharp also played moog on "So Jealous."

In 2005, The White Stripes did a cover of Tegan and Sara's song "Walking With A Ghost," which was released on the "Walking With A Ghost" EP by the group. "Walking With A Ghost" was also used in a mashed-up Dance remix bootleg by Party Ben http://partyben.com/downloads/ with a song by Mylo, "Paris Four Hundred" under the title "Walking With A Ghost In Paris", which became a sought after club track after an influential dance radio station in the United States, KNHC/Seattle, Washington, started playing the song. Mindless Self Indulgence

A band that defietaly takes some toloerance, there good but they use the words niger and fag through the majority of there music..so if you can take it..listen to it, i think their style is worth it. Again I'll post what wikapedia says.

Mindless Self Indulgence, commonly referred to as MSI is an American electropunk band. They describe their music as "industrial jungle pussy punk". Though considered punk, they are heavily influenced by techno, industrial, electro, and hip-hop. Intentionally iconoclastic, lead singer James Euringer (who uses the stage name Little Jimmy Urine) owes sartorial influence to the New York Dolls, wearing fishnet shirts at concerts, and is occasionally seen in shorts or pants with the inside cut out similar to how a skirt looks, and neon stockings. Euringer's outfits and antics are often the focal point of live shows.

Another large influence in the band's music comes from early 1980s culture. Frequently the music contains samples of early 80's hip-hop or rock, as well as Atari-style beeps and tones. Indeed, their first album as a band, 1999's Tight, was allegedly mixed on Atari equipment. Many of Urine's dress styles consist of juxtaposition of popular 1980s clothing or bastardized versions thereof.

Mindless Self Indulgence is distinct from mainstream punk, however, in their incorporation of lyrics about being gay and its related topics into nearly all their songs - even titling one of their songs as "Faggot." Also, Euringer and Steve, Righ? possess wide vocal ranges, stretching from tenor to high falsetto. The band also has no qualms about using words deemed offensive by some, such as nigga (Jimmy Urine argues that he doesn't say the word out of anger, and often it is more or less used in the sense that it is used in the hip hop world) and faggot, heavily in many of their songs. Many critics have used their word choice to dismiss the band as juvenile.

In keeping with their confrontational posture, Euringer has been arrested for pulling his penis out of his pants and attempting to set his pubic hair on fire. On another occasion, he allegedly succeeded. Other notable stage antics include drinking his own urine (along with guitarist Steve, Righ?), inviting audience members to punch him in the face or throw objects at him, making out with both genders during the show, and roaming through the audience after the set blaring hip-hop from a boombox perched on his shoulder.

The band's energetic live show has gained them much recognition. The band is known to stay after the show has finished, signing whatever fans want signed until not one person is left wanting a signature. They also take all wanted photographs with all desiring fans. They have opened for a number of popular modern bands including System of a Down, KoRn, Sum 41, and Rammstein. They have also played many large musical festivals including Voodoo Music Experience in 2003 and 2005, The Download Festival in 2005 as well as headlining the Mojave tent at the 2004 Coachella Festival.

FGWSSS Warning
A quote from the inside cover of MSI's album, Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy:

WARNING! You must listen to this album with your tongue planted firmly in your cheek. If you don't have a sense of irony, or you are a piece of shit bigot, or a fundamentalist anything, return this album immediately, don't come to our shows, don't wear our t-shirts. Fuck off. If you're a parent who neglects, beats, or doesn't show your child love, know that we don't condone violence so don't waste our time in court while you try to explain to a jury how our music made your "happy & normal" child into a deranged lunatic.

Thank You Very Much.
For those who think were Right wing, left wing, sexist, feminist, gay, straight, tops or bottoms, I just wanna say one thing we are... Mindless self indulgence. "On the thank you page of Frankenstien Girls will seem strangely sexy."
