good shows good shows
ive seen a lot of good and interesting shows lately.
the impotent sea snakes - midgets on stilts. 40 year old men in thongs. half naked girls whipping eachother. and a rockin cover of rock and roll all night by kiss. all in the factory. ask me more about this.
the matt cash experience and weapon of choice - matt, your band did good. cant wait to see you guys on more shows. weapon of choice is different...but good. very good.
Elliot and Mae - my opinion might be a little biased now that my good friend Zach is in Mae. but i thought they rocked. they totally evoked smart pop sensibility without all the redundant fluff. another band totally bereft of fluff--Elliot was also real good. its like one huge epic watching them. mellow, but creative.
but seriously now. lets talk about how I spoke to one of my idols for like half an hour. Mike Marsh is such a cool guy and one of the best musicians to come out of this scene, and it was unreal to be sitting there talking to this guy about everything from how he met Dave Grohl, to how Brittany Murphy is a dumb drunk, to sideburns, and music in general. Without sounding totally lame...Its a moment I won't forget ever, and I hope I can have that affect on some young kid wanting to be a musician someday.
