The Good:

* Annie was to me, by far, the best thing in this week's episode. Her bit with the Chloroform was the funniest bit, not to mention I liked her being the one making the plans and revealing the secret about Alan. Lots of good moments for her - and hey, both Troy and Abed noticed her, um, assests - silly, maybe a tad sexist, but still interesting.

* Chang was actually pretty fun - I liked his pop n' lockin' and his fantasy of being the center of attention in the library. I've read some comparions of him to Jack Black's one-episode character, but I would disagree - Black's character came out of nowhere - that was part of the humor - Chang's been here from the beginning, even if he wasn't part of the study group. Still, I like his outside-looking-in better than the idea of him being in the group period.

* Superficial BUT Britta's hair looks better with every episode - I don't know why, but I just keep noticing it...

* Nice to see Drew Carey - he did a good job playing Ted, the hole-in-his-hand lawyer - and hey, he's looking pretty good too!

The Bad:

* Jeff was very dry here, though this would be expected considering the circumstances. Still, I like a bit more from him and between this episode and last, I'm missing out.

* This episode wasn't all that funny. Oh sure, I liked the Annie-Chloroform bit but that was the end of the funny for me. I wanted more laugh-out-loud moments. Granted, we needed this episode to learn more about Jeff and his past, and I love character development...but still, *shrug* , I would have liked to chuckle more.

* Not so much bad as kinda sad - Abed's cartoon tunnel tricking Troy...poor, poor Troy...who wouldn't want to believe?

* Not enough Shirley - I love Shirley and would really like to see more of her - Yvette Nicole Brown needs more facetime!

* Everything with Pierce fell flat for me but the champagne bit - that's about it.

* Past her hair, Britta did nothing for me this week - shame, as I was really getting into her last episode.

*...terrible, I know, but...I wanted to know why Ted had a hole in his hand...

The Overall:

While by no means the funniest or best episode - this installment did fill in many holes (opps, sorry Ted) about Jeff's past and gave us more character development. Alison Brie showed she can pull off some good physical humor as Annie, as well as gave us a peek into her past (present?) as well in regards to her NA meetings. Troy did a good job tugging at my heartstrings and Abed was also pretty golden. The whole Annie/Abed/Troy part was spot-on and Chang had his moment - past that, very 'meh' episode.

Still better than most of the things I see on TV? Yes, very much so. And really, that's all that matters. Next week's episode? Oh yeah, I'll be there! ;)
