On August 6th...

I will be seeing a concert! I have not been to a concert since I went to see 'Perfect Circle'...don't laugh at me! D:

There are just very few bands I would pay to see live and hey, that Perfect Circle gig was free as someone paid for me, so, you know, actually, now that I think of it, this is the first concert I have ever actually paid for myself. Want to hear my concert-seeing history?!

she_burns1's sad concert history

* Faith Hill/Alan Jackson - 90s? - parents paid, no one even knew who Faith Hill was then...I think I was like, 9 or something.

* Curiousa Festival - 2004 - friends paid, THE CURE. Interpol, The Rapture, and Mogwai. Muse, Cursive, Thursday, The Cooper Temple Clause, Scarlin, Melissa Auf der Maur, and Head Automatica. Again, no one even knew who a lot of these bands were then - only those who were big into music (I look at you, Jill, you probably knew all of them then) - a lot of them were playing second fiddle to The Cure. Muse, in particular - there was no Stephanie Meyer barking about how Muse helped inspire her during her Twilight writings.

* Perfect Circle - 2004/2005? - friends paid, Mini KISS opened (little people dressed as KISS who play KISS songs but are not KISS), not a bad show - that, and when I went I was going through this whole Hot Topic-wearing/fishnet/Tool/Perfect Circle/Korn/I'm-so-angry-grahh-goth phase.

That's it. The end. Again, don't laugh!!!! DDDD:

I just am not (normally) a concert girl.

The list of bands I'd be willing to see live is very, verrrry short and, it just so happens, one of them is going to be in my area!

That's right!:

I love their albums and they have a new one out August 3rd, which, fingers crossed, will also be good.
And I'm making a whole trip out of it. I'm staying at a hotel 4 minutes from the event and, oh, hey, in between them is a P.F. Chang's! So I can eat before. I'm going with three friends - should be a fun time! I now leave you with a music vid:
