I Tried To Do Handstands For You

Nov 18, 2008 10:35

I've been a jumble all over lately.

Work has really eaten most of my life and when it hasn't been that, it's been me flying all over the wide spectrum of new loves and new fandoms.

My poor, poor Flight - they are on the backburner. Which is funny, since I finally got approved for fanfic_100 and then there is my beloved, but now lingering, un_love_you claim. Maybe the new season will inspire me? But I don't know - I don't have HBO and I echo ediblestar's comments that I'm kinda meh to the whole thing. I feel like they didn't want to really do this season so I'll just see them up there with this 'I-Don't-Really-Want-To-Do-This' sense. Fingers crossed for the wrong, but, you know...

So new fandoms?

Um, yes, much embarrassment.

I saw HSM3 and adored it. Is it well acted? No. Is the singing/dancing that great? No. Is it too long? Yes. Is it ridiculously cheesy? Yes. Do I love it anyway? Oh yes, yes, yes!!! There's just something about loving a fandom you know is terrible and dumb and stupid and that's how I feel about HSM3.

I love Zac Efron and his goofy, skinny, clean-cut Disney-ness. I love his Backboys-esque singing skills. I just love him.

Is there any good HSM fic? Oh GOD no. HSM fandom is all squealing pre-teens who write about 'cerulean' blue eyes and how they save Troy (Zac) from the clutches of secretly bitchy!Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens). Now, going in, did I honestly expect to find decent HSM fic? No, but, hey, figured it couldn't hurt to look. Just like how I still, to this day (in vain), search for good Harry Potter fan fiction.

Then there is Twilight. The movie is this week and I have my ticket and do I think it will be good? Probably not, no, no, but I will see it anyway because I kind of hope it is as deliciously cheesy as HSM3 was. And, for what it is worth, I enjoyed the first novel. Maybe not the subsequent ones after, but the first did entertain me well.

THEN there is the excitement that grips me as I wait, with bated breath, for ballroombubble's book, which I have purchased and will soon be on its way over the ocean and into my greedy little hands! Ain't nothing but a good time - I'll probably read it all in a day! ;-)

Oh, and back to embarrassment! World of Warcraft. YES. I have the expansion pack and yes I have level 70 characters to take to 80 and a new shiny deathknight and yes, yes I LIKE the nerdy. I can't help it!

And after my last post - yes - still adoring Austen!

So that's where I currently am - new loves and such!

Nothing more cool to report, maybe something better next round...

movies, fandom, busy
