Me and such

Oct 06, 2008 20:35

Been pretty busy the last couple of days, what with interviewing/hiring and getting the store ready and such.

Word to the wise - if you're going on an interview don't wear jeans. I can't believe the number of people who have shown up wearing jeans to our interviews! I have never worn jeans to an interview, nor would I ever. *sigh*

For the next 3 days I have to go to Richmond to train. I'm a little nervous, because training always makes me nervous. Thus far, things in the new job have gone pretty well. My new boss, David, seems pretty cool and my fellow key holder, Keith, also seems decent, but as always, now and then I am racked with the following worries:

1) I don't know what I am doing
2) No one likes me

I manage to placate myself with the knowledge that, #1 both David and Keith don't know what they're doing either, as they're also new to the business and as for #2, people do like me, I'm just paranoid. Still - it floats to mind now and then.

Saw two new movies. The first was 'Cashback' and here is the trailer:

It was a really amazing movie. Very strange and beautiful. I loved all the camera work and the way in which they froze moments. Also, it stars Sean Biggerstaff who played Oliver Wood in 'Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets' and he does an amazing job. It is a bit slow in parts and has crazy amounts of nudity but I really enjoyed it.

I also saw 'The Fall', which lordstarfish had suggested on her LJ long ago. It was also a breath-takingly gorgeous film and towards the end I got really choked up - if you can get an emotional response out of me filmwise then, yeah, you're doing a good job. Lee Pace has really struck me, as, at first, when I saw him I didn't find him to be attractive but over the course of watching the film I began to find him very attractive. So much so that I went out and bought 'Pushing Daisies Season 1' and, wow, I really like the show thus far (only on Episode 3)!

Haven't heard a peep out of fanfic100, it's supposed to take about a month for them to get to you, so I'm thinking I might jump over and also do un_love_you while I wait, as it's a bit shorter. But then I also need to get back into writing, as I seem to be relapsing into that state where I have ideas but I am scared to start.

Maybe I'll go and read some fics for a while - try to get myself warmed up...
