A friend pointed me to pottersues and...wow. Just...wow.
I can't believe this girl has waded her way through the treacherous waters of Mary Sue Harry Potter fan fiction. I salute her - I couldn't do it. I think I'd lose my mind.
Granted, I've written some loathsome fic in my day (in fact, I'm still not sure on the things I write now) but this stuff is...priceless.
This fiction alone throws me...when an Original Character (Or, really, Mary Sue here, I shouldn't be so gentle) has, quote:
Ugly clothes: "a white skirt, a baby blue Abercrombie and Fitch hoodie and a lime green tank top that had the words, See this face? Dial 1-800-YOU-WISH on the front in black." A cell phone and 10 credit cards.
I'm just...astounded. Abercrombie and Fitch? Harry Potter? Abercrombie and Fitch and Harry Potter together?! AM-azing. Wish I had 10 credit cards. And cell phones at Hogwarts?! Do they get reception?
I bet Twilight has some great Mary Sue's floating about too :-).
So far FOTC seems free (save my own terrifying works!) of Mary Sues and bad!fiction but I wonder if it will get inflicted after Season 2? Here's hoping not.
ALSO - I purchased Season 1 of 'Supernatural' (as I watch most shows through DVDs alone) and I am so in love. Two hot guys, driving around, fighting ghosts and such! Good times, good times! ;)
