days go by and still...
Keaton is walkin' now, has made it across rooms on his own. He still crawls as his main form of mobility, but the walking is there.
He has also, finally, cut his first tooth. It's peeking out from his little baby gums, another one right beside it but even more hidden. That explains the clinginess and fussiness lately. I'm glad I had the time this past week to just hold him when he expressed the need instead of dismissing him as too clingy and in need of some tough love (and forced "self-soothing" as many people recommended to me). Clearly he was hurting and just wanted to hug someone familiar. I get that. I feel that way lately, too.
This week is Ali's one week of vacation this year. He gets a week off at Xmas, too, but usually that's broken up and what time off there is is taken up by familial holiday obligations. We're squandering the time but luxuriating in the fact that we have time to squander. Weird.
