Are you really showing already?

(Having had two kids and a love of beer, I'd LOVE a belly as flat/firm as that.)

having neither children nor a particular love of beer, I'd STILL love a tummy even half as flat as that!!

Aw you guys are sweet. i've never really liked my belly. Oddly, now I do! I believe I'm showing already, but I'm extremely sensitive. I've gained 2 lbs but it's probably just water weight. And the "showing" is just bloating, but I see it!

Invest in mother/belly moisturizers soon, and get Ali trained up to apply them. Thighs, too.

Bonus, when applying, if you work in a clockwise motion, say from appendize up, across diaphram, down, under bellybutton, back to appendix, repeat -- that motion is what my Mom always did when we were feeling yurky and it totally helps soothe tummies.

(as in, start now, and remind yourself, in your head, as you apply the lotions, that your skin is flexible, that it stretches and moves, and it will work *with* you, to carry baby and then later return to taut. It can be done, but it takes consistent effort, along with some genetic luck. My bellydance teacher, Elmazah, had an amazing tummy AFTER pregnancy, because she kept up her gentle, tummy-focused bellydance exercises)

Is this for preventing stretch marks or just nausea? (I'll do it for either, of course!) I'm curious to hear what others have experienced stretch-mark-wise. I hear you either have the genes that get em or you don't, and you can't actually prevent em...

AND that's very interesting, because Master taught long ago that going in circles clockwise will create good energy and when you go counter clockwise it disrupts energy and causes weakness/illness. Your mom backs him up! Cool :)

er, I just read your other post, I read them out of order. You answer my question! YES, that sounds good, I like the idea of kinda chanting a matra of appreciating my body and telling it I know it can do well what it's meant to do. :)

genetics sets the stage for tendency, and that diet and self-healing, self-loving lifestyle through the pregnancy contribute to recovery from, or original avoidance of, stretch marks.

The clockwise motion also conforms to common sense, since the food from small intestine/appendix moves up the large intestine, towards the shoulder, then across to the left side, then down and out the back. So you're helping any food and even more importantly any awkward-feeling gas to move through smoothly. I love how Moms and health-savvy people like Master Yi have such deep wisdom :)

"what was your stretchmark experience? what would you do differently, under ideal circumstances?"

You can even (also) address it to anyone else in the filter who might have non-pregnancy experience with stretchmarks. I don't need to comment there, but I do have a tiny little experience along those lines that I would be happy to chat about in person, if you remind me, next time we hang out.
