Yeah, I totally agree about Karkat. I think this is a reason why he rejects it, whether he knows about it or not. Even if he doesn't know the whole story, he probably knows something. Though I don't suppose he's been looked up by his faithful, simply because he doesn't have worshipers scattered every which way. ^^
Mindfang knew about the Sufferer even though she wasn't a believer, and even though the government was suppressing the information, so I got the impression that it had happened during her lifetime. Or at least not too long ago. And then the Summoner wasn't supposed to be born for several hundred sweeps, but he was to become her redrom partner and her killer. Highbloods live for a long time. And Redglare was quite young... So the Subjugglator could definitely have been involved with the Sufferer's execution even before Redglare was born.
you can't call Karkat's Ancestor Karkat
I can if I want to? :P
I mean, we can use "The Signless", "The Subjugglator", "Redglare", "Dualscar", "The Summoner" and "Mindfang Spinneret" for those particular versions, but if I want to refer to, say Nepeta 1Hf? It's a lot faster than going "the Nepeta-like character in the first spin of the game", or "the original hero who was turned into Nepeta's Ancestor". Or worse, if I'm talking about the 1Ac characters, going "Eridan from the first reality when he was an Ancestor" is... bulky.
Nevermind me, though. I'm just trying to sort it out in my own mind, because it was giving me a headache. ^^ If you can think of a better way to refer to them without resorting to long descriptions, please share!
(Although troll procreation is weird! Bro isn't Dave A because Dave shares half of his genes with Mom, but with the trolls - I'm thinking one of the generations would be made up from genetic material from all of the twelve purely paradox trolls, but overwhelmingly from the individual they're connected to. So they're probably not identical identical, but pretty close.)
