OMG it's all Gamzee's fault that the kids' universe is bonkers! Seriously. It might be Karkat's fault that the universe is self-destructive, but it's Gamzee's fault that it's insane. That explains that, I guess.
It also explains John's nightmares. About clowns. Aww. And we did know that Dave had nightmares about Cal. I wonder about the girls, though, they don't seem to have had nightmares? Although Jade hasn't had a non-Prospit dream for many years, and Rose probably wouldn't mention it if her life depended on it.
And it was all Dave's fault that Gamzee went insane in the first place. I've been thinking for a while that this is setting it up so that everyone is guilty of messing everything up, and this continues the trend. Although technically, the reason Dave gave Gamzee that vid was because he got the idea from this update's conversation, so... Timey-wimey. For maximum impact, here's Dave and Gamzee's other conversation.

Thinking about that Jack = cancer thing... Jack is the cancer because he hates Universe Frogs, and Jack exists in all sessions (or at least the trolls' session too). In fact, all Derse agents hate frogs - AR certainly does, and Kanaya mentioned "agents" pluralis. Does that mean that by expelling the cancer, the kids' universe has made it spread into the Medium and by extension every reality? Or perhaps the sickness already exist in all realities, personified by the Derse Kingdom, but only in the kids' reality did it grow dangerous by the series of cancerous events that gave its Jack Noir all that power?
