So, I got season three of Atlantis for my birthday and just finished it.

And just when his character develops and you grow to love him, they KILL HIM OFF! I totally feel your pain.

That was beautifully written by the way! I love that man so much.

Just as long as Dr. Zalenka stays alive, I will continue to watch the show, but they're not winning many brownie points. Sigh...

Oh, I know. I haven't gotten around to season four yet; it's sitting here staring at me, waiting to pounce. But I'm honestly not sure I care anymore; I really don't much like the direction the show's going in, and especially some of the characters. On the one hand, I'm still unimaginably frustrated that they killed Carson off; on the other, the direction his character was going in wasn't something I liked.

I'm not really ready to swear it off, just yet. I still love the show and am really liking the new characters they bring in in season 4. And the writing is still good. It's just reaching the point that SG-1 reached in season 9, where the writing got almost too bold and it became too easy to create new ships and kill of characters. Actually I think Janet Fraser's death in season 8 is analogous to Carson's death in season 3. (They have a problem with completely amazing CMO's apparently ( ... )

lol. I should send you the crossover vid someone did, chronicling all of the Star Trek characters who appeared on Babylon 5 and vice versa.

Yeah, I'm not quite ready to write it off just yet, I'm still fairly loyal to the characters. I'm just not filled with quite as much awesome for it as I was when it first came out. I completely can't see myself getting into the third series at all, and I'm not sure if I even care about the movies. Your comparison is well founded. Although in the realm of awesome scifi, have you actually seen much of B5? I'm trying to find someone who has, because I went and watched all five seasons straight through, and it is pretty much the most made of win thing I've seen in my entire life; I'm offically a B5 convert.
