More work angst
I'm in tech support. I answer phones. So I don't see what use it would be for me to go out into the field for a day and ride along with a field tech. Especially when piercings aren't allowed for safety reasons, and because customers would be seeing me. Now, if my piercings wouldn't try to close up, I wouldn't mind it so much, but they do try. I went and talked to the person that is setting up these ride alongs, and I used the example that while I was in my interview on Friday for half an hour, I had 3 piercings try to close up. That was just an example. He said he'd talk to the boss higher up and see if I can keep in those 3. But that's not the point! Others can close up, especially in an all day situation. I'm not risking infection for this. No way. But they don't acknowledge the fact that there could be a medical issue. They don't give a fuck! I don't want to cause too much of an issue, because I don't have a guaranteed job elsewhere yet, but I don't want to do this. But if I flat out refuse, they'll threaten to fire me and all that. Arg. I hate this crap.
