So, the surgery is at 830 am. I talked to Dad, and he said that he'd talk to his boss and see about getting off early so that they could be here before I go in. Cool, right?

Yeah, right.

He called me back a little while ago, and said that they aren't coming up at all tomorrow, because mom scheduled a doctor's appointment tomorrow afternoon. Now, I understand that my mom is messed up with all her medical issues, like with her previous bouts with cancer, and her current diagnosis of lupus, but I'm being cut open tomorrow! I'm going under anesthesia, and having a body part removed! All her appointment is for is to have blood drawn. I know I probably sound like a spoiled kid, but I can't help it. They said that they're going to come up on Saturday and visit me, and make sure I'm doing okay. What's the point on Saturday? It's not like we can go out and do anything together. It'll just be all of us sitting around doing not much of anything, trying to have strained conversation. At least if they were here tomorrow, we could talk a bit, they could comfort me, stick around during the surgery, and then make sure that I got back to Ernie's and got settled. Wow. Does that sound as terribly bratty to anyone else as it does to me?

Just had to rant.
