(no subject)
We rang in the new year by having our sewer back up in to the basement right as our guests arrived. So, the first hour of the party proceeded without us as we mucked out the storage area and snaked the drain. The rest of the evening proceeded without further incident. The evening culminated with a champagne toast and champagne popper fireworks at midnight. That streamer stuff is still everywhere, but I have very little give-a-crap right now.
Today the family is having a Harry Potter marathon. We may skip number two, Ava is terrified of Dobby. I've got a batch of no bake cookies cooling in the fridge and steaks marinating for supper. There's a light snow falling and I have nowhere to be except under my cozy blanket on the couch with the girls. This promises to be a good start to a year that I'm greatly anticipating to be full of good things for us.
