it is one hell of a gloomy day today. it's is thundery and rainy and dark out. perfect day to cuddle up in your house with a movie or a book.
well, i never said anything about my vacations, so i might as well. boston was awesome. i loved it. i would never ever drive there, but i loved it. the first day me and the b-friend got there, we had dinner at the cheers bar. the food was actually really good. we were exhausted from all the traveling, so we just called it an early night. the next morning we woke up and got some coffee and just walked around. it was really nice. tony's mommy paula came in that afternoon and took us to lunch and on a trolley tour of the city. it was really cool. we had lunch at a nice little italian place in little italy (surprise!). our trolley tour guide was super nice and the tour was informative, but not boring. that night we headed over to ryan and andrea's place. (tony's bff and his fiancee) from there we met up with ReL for dinner. *YaY* for bffs meeting. :) the next day, ryan was our tour of the city. we did the skywalk tour and then had some lunch. after lunch, we went to the aquarium because tony really wanted to. what a nerdy boyfriend i have. it was fairly entertaining. the penguins were adorable. :) we split up with ryan after that. we managed to find our way to tulani's place, which took a while. unfortunately the only person there was her mom. but it's okay because i love her mom to pieces and it was so good to see her again. we met up with ReL for dinner that night again. love. :) the next day we had to wake up nice and early to meet our bus to take us to salem for the day. unfortunately our bus driver was already late and we took so much time driving up to salem, making stops and whatnot, that we only had 2 hours there. but we got some lunch and went to the salem witch museum and still had a few minutes to wonder around the town. it really was an adorable place and it would be a really great place to go to for like a whole day. go to all the tourist sites and just walk around. we got back and had dinner alone together for once. :p then ryan came over to our hotel and the three of us had some drinks in the bar. tony and ryan got to catch up and i got really tipsy off of just 2 beers. well, to be honest, i was really tipsy after just the one and on my way to drunk after the second. oops. i guess that's what happens over the summer when i never drink. my tolerance disappears. the next day we had to wake up bright and early again to get our stuff together to go to the airport. boo for the trip being over. we definitely didn't have enough time to see everything we wanted to. there just wasn't enough days. i'd love to go back. all in all it was a great vacation and i'm glad we finally had the chance to take a vacation just the two of us. :)
hmm...i got back on a wednesday evening and that saturday morning me and the fam headed to pennsylvania. we got a movie on the flight over. :) fever pitch. it was cute. we stayed in PA for a week, at the grandparents house. it was a really good trip. we got to see my dad's highschool buddy/college roommate steve. he came over with his wife and youngest kid, danny. who i'm guessing wouldn't like to be called a kid since he's going to be a senior in highschool. us "kids" went out and played a game of volleyball while the grownups drank lots of beer and reminisced about the "old days". on the fourth, we had a big picnic thingie at my grandparents house. lots of family. my aunt sue rented a dunk tank for the day. the kids had tons of fun playing in it. it was really cool. the food was delicious. and it was real good seeing everyone again. the next day we went over to my aunt wendy's and saw her and the three kids. absolutely adorable. tyler's 9 now, josh will be 6 in august, and ashlea will be 3 on sunday. love them. the cutest kids ever. i'm definitely going to make ashlea my flower girl one of these years. she's so cute. we made fast friends. wednesday of the trip, me and my family, plus wendy and the kids and my aunt jodi went to hershey park. we were there from the time it opened (10 a.m.) until about 5 that evening. it was a long day but lots of fun. i went on a lot of the kiddie rides with ashlea and josh. i also got majorly sunburned on my shoulders. damn me for not using proper protection. thursday wendy and jodi and the kids came over again and we went over to devil's den and everyone climbed all over all the rocks. then we went to mr. g's (an ice cream place in gettysburg...that was actually open!) and got some ice cream and floats and sno cone like things. it was fun. that night, the fam plus all the grandparents and my aunt sue went out to dinner together. then everyone that was at dinner, minus my paw paw, went to mini golf. i was on a team with matt and my dad. let me tell you...funniest team to be on. well, we didn't win but i did get 2 holes in one! it was very exciting. the next day there was a big family picnic at my aunt jodi's for my mom's side of the family. it was lots of fun seeing everyone. my brothers scared poor little josh once it got dark though. telling him there was a ghost out there and making all kinds of scary noises. he wouldn't go down the driveway alone. poor kid. well, that next day was our return flight day. so we packed everything up and wendy and jodi and my grammie and the kids came over to say bye to all of us. ashlea helped me pack up the present i brought back for tony. such a helpful girl. :) i hope they come visit us next summer like they were talking about. then my grandparents and sue drove us to airport to say goodbye. i'd say everyone had a good time. too bad we only get to see everyone every other year. oh well.
well, that's been the extent of my summer excitement. two good trips. :) well, i don't have much else to say right now, so i'm going to go find something to entertain me on this rainy rainy day. everyone out and about in this weather, be careful. :) talk to you kiddies later.
