Good mood anyway :-)

I'm coughing, sneezing, and blowing my nose, but I'm still in a wonderful mood this morning.

DH went back out yesterday, but this time he was a lot more prepared. He has money, a bag of non perishable food, a small bottle of laundry soap, and a phone. I'm always going to worry about him, but I feel better knowing he has those things. I'm already loving the fact that he has a phone. He called me this morning while I was on my way to drop the kids off at school and I was able to put him on speaker phone and the kids were able to hear there daddy and tell him they loved him before they got out of the car. (I saw three very big smiles) DH has been placed with a new mentor and he says he already likes this guy better than the last guy. (thank goodness) I didn't get to talk to him long because he was tired and was going to go to sleep. He just wanted to call me to let me know what was going on so I wouldn't worry. He said he would try to call latter after he wakes up. He might, but I'm not going to hold him to it, because he's still sick and will probably end up sleeping longer than he thinks he is. (he needs as much sleep as he can get until he gets over this)

I had a ARRD meeting about my daughter yesterday. It's a mandatory meeting you have to go to if your child receives special services from the school (she's dyslexic) I always get nervous before I go to those things, because you just never know what you are going to hear. (I have to go to them for my son also because he has learning disabilities) This time I heard good stuff. My daughter is doing great her teachers are particularly impressed with her grasp on grammar and they tell me that all her recent test scores have been high on all her subjects. Her average isn't as high as her test scores, because she will misplace her work. The teachers know she is doing her work, because she always finds it, (usually wrinkled up in her locker) but a lot of times it will be after it was due then she gets a bunch of points taken off because of it not being turned in on time. She's responsible, hard working, but VERY unorganized. If it wasn't for that, she would be on the A-B honer roll. One of the things I talked to the teachers about was the fact that I felt like she needed glasses, because she has begun telling me that she is having trouble seeing the board and even though I know my daughter doesn't want to could they please seat her in the front. I explained to them that it would be two or three months before we were able to get glasses for her because of our present financial situation and they said they would have the school nurse do an eye screening on her this week and that the local lions club might be able to help us get glasses for her! That would be so nice if they could and her not have to wait so long. Also later after I picked the kids up from school, my daughter tells me she got first chair in band!
