"Good News is Rock and Roll" Wesley Willis
I submitted a short-story to an annual competition at my college, thirty minutes before the deadline. First time ever entering a writing competition. It won Honorable Mention. No cash, but I'll be in print in their spring literary journal. Still don't know if the whole story will get in or if I'll be excerpted due to space constraints. I don't know how to feel about this. It's like putting half a painting on display in a gallery and expecting viewers to get it. I entered three poems as well and - nothing. Guess I should've sent em the hardcore shit after all - I tried to choose stuff that wouldn't scare the kiddies. Gofigure. The story was totally street. Next year, it's on. I will free the beasts of bard-in without hesitation.
