I don't feel an imperative to "continue my genes." I'd like to maybe have children in my life someday, but I don't feel any particular drive to make sure they share the same genetic material as I do.

Even if I am 'smart', or 'good-looking' or whatever other criteria people feel is important to contribute to the gene pool.

But then, my genetic code isn't exactly... one of a kind. So, perhaps it doesn't matter.

Does anyone on my friends list have that drive to "contribute to the gene pool"? If so, might you to explain where that comes from? Or what you have to offer?

I know I know, unique genetic code, one in a million, etc., but no, really.
