The sky tonight reminds me of that night we spent by the lake. Wandering away from the rest, you and I held hands through the pocket of a hoodie, and breathed the same cold night air back out, warmed by our body heat. We talked about things that mattered; impossible topics when four walls are listening, but made possible, and somehow alive, in the bravery of nature at night.

Do you remember looking out over the water, and seeing the stars reflected in its surface? How I said it reminded me of home? And I wrapped your arms around me, as if physical proximity were enough to share a memory, and silently, we watched the stars ripple in the water.

Tonight reminds me of that night, and suddenly I find my memory of home doesn't exist without you, anymore.
