39 weeks
Yep....39 weeks. Baby is due next week!
Unfortunately the little stinker is either very stubborn and refusing to join us, or she's a little "slow" and just doesn't get it haha...b/c I'm pretty sure she's trying to claw her way out the wrong end!
This weekend i did the mall walking, Sunday i did manual labor all day by planting flowers, bushes, mulching our flower beds, etc...we have been taking nightly walks with the dogs....do you think Raya can even humor me with one tiny little contraction?!?! NO!
Everything looked fine at my appointment today. It was funny b/c Raya's heartrate was high again....it's always been 140-145bpm, but then last week it was 158 (which didn't really surprise me considering how active she was)....well then TODAY it was 161!!! She was literally trying to climb out through my ribs lol.
Uterus is still measuring perfectly, as always. Was an exact 39cm for 39 weeks pregnant so that was good. They are still saying she'll be "average" size
When they checked me I didn't have much hope of any change. They asked if I'd been having contractions and I said no...she then said "well contractions ARE necessary in order for you to dialate"....yes, yes I know this :-P So I was checked and still exactly the same as every other week. Baby still isn't engaged--is continuing to hover around that -1 mark (which means she hasn't officially dropped)....still only 1cm dialated....still only 50-80% effaced, depending on how generous they are wanting to be.
I was told that I'll probably be someone who will just have a spontaneous water break or suddenly have labor contractions come out of nowhere.....OR I"ll need to be induced. Not looking like I"ll have any sort of slow progression towards labor.
My 40 week appt. is on Monday already....so at that appt. I"m assuming that they will then schedule me for "checks" until 41 weeks when they would induce. I was told today that starting at 40weeks they would then more closely monitor me that next week just to make sure baby and me are handling our extra week of pregnancy alright. She DID say it's not out of the question that baby would come before my Monday appt. though....so there is still a smidgen of hope haha
The only positive of the appt. was that I lost weight! ....one pound thinner, so at least those walks and work this weekend did SOMETHING....just not what I was hoping!
I guess the good news is that if Raya stays in there until 41 weeks that is still a maximum 2 weeks left before meeting her, which 2 weeks isn't really THAT long. And maybe if she grows into a huge 10 lb baby then at least that is more weight that i'll magically lose during delivery, and less to work off post pardum :-P
....and so we wait...
